as many of you know, I am a strong proponent of buy the best once as you will save money in the long run.

Well sometimes I don't listen to my own advice...
I am now on my 3rd pen/tablet device.
Had a Genius that went belly up. After that bought a Wacom Bamboo which went belly up - apparently all too common due to pen issues.
Unfortunately I thought - heck "it's just a simple input device".
Well boy do I stand corrected!!

So finally bought a Wacom intous.
Well as far as usability is concerned - it walks all over the others.
So due to my two other stupid purchases trying to do things on the cheap - the real thing has cost me $200 more as the other devices are useless.
Had I bit the bullet and spent the money on the good stuff in the 1st place - I would have $200 more in my pocket.

Myself, Laurin and many others have been saying buy it right and buy it once.
This is indeed a case in point that I did not heed!!!

Now granted it's only a wasted $200, but the point remains that if I followed my own advice, I could be spending that $200 on a nice dinner or something rather than kicking myself for being so stupid by not investing the money up front on good equipment.
Try to nickle and dime things here and there and it will eventually bite you in uhhhh the hind quarters.

Yeah, Vince... did these things die inside the warranty? No money lost. Unless you have to pay to ship for the RMA.

The genius was no big deal - dirt cheap.
The Wacom was a Bamboo - warranty would have just given me another Bamboo. And I would have to suffer through the thing dying at the most inopportune time.
So..bite the bullet and do it right as I should have in the 1st place.

Or, RMA the broken bamboo, get a brand new one, and sell it on Craig's List, brand new unopened. Recoup some cost.

It is indeed a quantum leap from the Bamboo.
Being a photog, and not having the advanced needs of an illustrator, the Bamboo would suffice.....WRONG!

Funny..this is the 1st thing I have gone cheap on in countless years and it bit me!

Hmmm strange I love my Bamboo (not the fun)
I also like my genius pen 610

I use the Bamboo on my laptop everyday as mouse, for PS and AI work.Never ever had problems with it.

The genius I use on school and on my main PC the same way as the bamboo on the labtop.
Also never had problems with it.

I hope they both gonna work properly after one or two.
Both were very cheap and worth every penny I spend on them.
