Keep in mind that SS server does not support Resume function. So, if your connection breaks for a little little moment, the upload starts all over and the uncomplete uploads will exist together with the full uploads. You may be willing to upload one but you could soon find that you uploaded three times the same clip.

SS staff recently promised to sort this issue. I am sure they will.

Has anyone had any clips at all approved?

I have had 22 clips accepted, one rejected, three with processing problems, and 15 pending. Again, video is a big thing for both Shutterstock and us. It's huge. There will be glitches to work out and they won't all be cured by the end of the week but I'm very confident that they will get there. I can only tell you what I, personally am doing. I'm continuing my still work, although not all of it goes to SS, as I have been with the Trads for a number of years. If you are approved for still work, keep your toe in the door and allay your impatience by taking more photos. I am continuing to shoot video at submission quality and uploading it in a timely manner, as well as eating away at the backlog I have sitting on the shelf. I cannot imagine that all the folks who are submitting to SS footage are video beginners. I'f not, then they must, logically, have done some previous video which they can work on getting ready. Some, like myself, may have a lot of it. I have 15 clips pending, but I'm not upset about them. SS will get to them and that video is not decomposing as the hours pass. As for those clips that have the "unable to process" hiccups, it will eventually become apparent what factors are to blame. Some formats/software may have more trouble than others and these will start to show themselves. I personally am suspicious about my system's feature of "Smart Render." I'm keeping notes about those clips that have technical problems and those that sail through. Eventually, I should see patterns in my own work, things to avoid, that will help solve some of these glitches. Keep shooting and concern yourself images, not SS problems, which eventually they will iron out.

Well all, I was about to give up on mine too and low and behold SS reviewed my clips. All rejects and one approved. Now, I can't remember what method I used to process that one. But, anyhoo I am happy I got one right.

Thanks Shutterstock for reviewing my clips.
Marlene

were those clips 'pending' or 'unable to process' when they were reviewed????

They were all pending.

One other thing I found out through trail and error is when using Window Movie Maker to make a clip. When you use the trim feature it looks like it still holds data. I found that after taking the .avi file to Adobe After Effect. Then re-saving there as a new project file then export .avi this seems to work better. Marlene

I am truely a babe when it comes to video. What an adventure. ha ha

What good does it do to spend hours of computer time uploading video clips, when 90% of them are "unable to process?"

ANS: No good at all. It makes no money for us, it makes no money for SS, and it wastes everyone's time and disk space.

So, to SS, I say, either get it together or stop wasting our time and effort.
