Its quite funny listening to you rant and rave Pete. I am way over februarys numbers already and there is still 10 days left in the month - so im not complaining. (I have NO photos of models either) But even if I was down I wouldnt whinge about it on a forum or blame Shutterstock. I would get off my ass and take good photos that people will download. Its simple really.

You really are too serious, take everything too personal and think the world revolves around you. Sorry if you take that as a personal attack but people like you tend to piss me off. ;)

I still don't understand what Pete Bax wants!

Do we need a moderator?
He complains that he is insulted after stating that he knows he would be insulted for asking that question.
Well I say, there is only one person to blame, that is you and only you; youy asked for it.

Sounds like little brother picking a fight after school while his BIG brother is standing next to him.
He even has the nerve to blame the moderator for the attacks.
And when he was really being attacked the moderator came to rescue him by locking the thread then he complaints about that too.

Let me try to turn this threat around into something positive.

Take the following as a suggestion only.

Have you thought of placing the following words in front of the statements that you make? Like this.

"Don't take me wrong, if I may say" John should limit everyone else to ...5 uploads a month. Then I might sell some of my new stuff.

"Correct me if I am wrong but" the moderator ...should keeps his nose out...

"Excuse my asking" So why are you trying to introduce a system that the designers don't want...

"Sorry, normally I am not this selfish" I think we should pay more respect to... photogs who have sold 2000 plus photos.

"May I make a suggestion" make a party for photogs to meet purchasers and bypass the middleman.

===========================
And talk about democrasy!
About the best democratic thing here at SS is we can leave any time if we choose to.
Someone said "They did not join us, we joined them".
Pete if you did not chip-in money to start the site, you should stop trying to control the admin.

After this, if I may Humbly suggest:
You may lock this thread!

I say:
We take the pictures.
Let John run ShutterStock.

Do we need a moderator?

There are, I imagine, 1000's (hundreds of 1000's) of bulletin boards on the internet - please can someone post a link to one that is without a moderator (or whatever their term is) & the conversation is civil.

If you can find one I'd be interested in posting on there...

Youre not the first and neither is Pete. But you're not blaming Shutterstock or the way it runs on your sales.

Hehe, maybe I should have been more precise. I just meant in the thread. I'd start feeling like the worst photographer in the world if I really were the first (and only?) one. :p

I intend to see a rise in my sales too as soon as my latest submissions are reviewed. Took a fair amount of wildlife shots over the weekend and I'm still preparing more to submit as I write. I want in on the March pie hehe.
