For submission by DVD/CD, here are the terms:

1 -- This is temporary, not permanent. We will let you know ahead of time when
the last day for submissions by mail will be. Right now, we're only
committing to accepting them through the end of September, 2008.

2 -- You cannot send hard drives, and you will not get back anything you
send us. Do not send us your only copy and do not take a DVD directly out
of your video camera and put it in the mail. Please do not send more than 5 DVDs at a time. IF YOU SEND MORE THAN 5 DVDs AT ONCE WE WILL NOT PROCESS YOUR SUBMISSION.

3 -- Please submit ONLY .MOV, MPEG (at highest quality) or .AVI files.

4 -- You cannot include any metadata or titles or keywords. You will still
have to go into your account and do that part of the process from within our
system. We won't reject things that include metadata -- but we we will ignore it. This is for mechanical reasons and is not negotiable.

5 -- Be sure to include your submitter ID on the DVD/CD itself. You can
find your submitter ID by visiting
http://submit.shutterstock.com/refinfo.mhtml -- it's the same as your
"referrer code".

6 -- Please allow up to two weeks for your videos to appear on the submit
site. The clips will appear in the "Waiting to be submitted" row of the
"Footage Stats" section of http://submit.shutterstock.com/main.mhtml .

If you are ok with all six of these conditions, you can get started.
Please send everything to our offices at:

Good question. I am currently uploading a batch of HD clips and it is taking forever! I have hundreds waiting to be rendered and this puts me off somewhat. If I knew I could still post via snail mail I may feel a lot more motivated ; )

Hmm... if I were in the US I'd just try sending them a single DVD. The potential loss should be minimal. Sending one from South Africa on trail and error basis however would be a killer. :(
