When using clipping masks on a multiple layer vector, I've noticed that after saving/closing the file and returning to it that all my layers have been combined onto the clipping mask layer.

I have released the clipping mask, but all the items still remain on the one layer.

I'm obviously doing something wrong! :)

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

That's illustrator.

Better you make a mask in each layer if necessary
