For a lot of us in the States we will once again be setting our clocks back to observe "daylight saving time'.

To me it doesn't save anything because when you have the lights off in the morning because it is light out earlier! You have to have them on longer at night because it is darker earlier! So what does it save nothing! It all balances out.

So to those who do have to set their clocks back how do you adjust to it for shooting?

When i use to get up to get a sunrise i would wake up at 4:00am to head out and now it will be 3:00am an hour earlier. The same holds true for the end of the night where the sunsets an hour earlier!

Just wondering what you may or may not do to adjust!?

Hope this is where to post this?

Time is meaningless. I just get up when it starts to get light outside (well, ok, maybe several hours after that). In reality, I usually just order a sunrise or sunset at my convenience. ;)

I hate it. I wish I could live someplace where they don't bother with that stuff. Better yet I wish I could live some place warm and tropical with ample daylight. :D

In the UK, we now have months of darkness ahead (urgh!). By xmas, the sun will be setting around 4pm and rising around 8pm :(

On the plus side, the xmas lights are brighter :D

No problem with clock changing here in the tropics but then no nice long light summer evenings either (always dark by 7pm in Bangkok).

...and you know that "golden hour" of magic light for photography? Well, you're lucky to get 15 minutes here.

Just trying to make you feel better ;)

Adrian.
