Brutal? OK: This is the worst piece of photographic trash I've ever...
Well, actually it's not too bad. Focus could be a little crisper maybe. And perhaps a touch underexposed. But the main problem I see is the background. The dark green foliage backdrop with dark brown surface doesn't really fit the wine theme. Something brighter, more Mediterranean, but above all, very simple & uncluttered. Because even though the background is OOF, it still interferes with the subject. The beaker, for instance, merges right into the greenery. Also the reflection on the beaker may be a tad on the strong side. But the main thing is, I think you need to shoot against a different backdrop.

I see what you mean about the beaker thing merging into the background.
I'll try it with a much simpler background, though mediteranean is going to be tough, I'm in Barnsley. I was hoping the green leaves might give it an "earthy" feel.

It just kinda sits there for me. Kinda Blah and ununique. Like I always say getting accepted is easy, Having Images that sell is very hard. search for wine and look at your competition. This is what your up against.Not just Going in your backyard and taking a shot. Brutal enough?

Perfect actually. I'm here to get my arse kicked, been reading the forums for weeks, got my first ever DSLR on Friday, getting better every day. Sugar coating never helped anyone improve anything (except making a cake), sod the coldron lets get right into the fire. You guys (and buyers) are the best critics I have seen.
And err, can I borrow that image for my portfolio pls :D

GREAT ATTITUDE!!! If we don't tell you the truth you will never grow.be sure to search for things your planning to do. Look at the top 50 Sorted By Photos.Theres some pretty amazing Images there. and those that don't think they look natural. Guess what? There not. There Todays successful Stock.The Bar raises weekly.A lot of old Buyers are sellers Now.
