This is the thread where you can submit keywords that you notice are not yielding the same results for the singular and plural form (i.e. people/person).

As long as the words are in this thread, they will be added to our system so that there is no more compatibility issue.

How long does it take to get these words added to the system? They still don't seem to be working.

The keyword system seems to be a weak link of SS. The first thing are plurals as mentioned in the post. The second thing are words that according to the system are reluctant and which are often most important ones.

My suggestion is to simplify the system and let users input plural words if they want to. Personally I prefer to spend 20 seconds more on keywording then after several weeks to find out that I need to add keywords to every single photo uploaded.

Sooner/Sooners, as in the University of Oklahoma Sooners football team or a sooner, which is a pioneer from the Oklahoma land run in 1889.

Kind of obscure, yes, but it would still be nice if the keywords worked properly, especially considering the Sooners have a funny way of ending up in the national championship every few years or so. :-D

This is not a forum to tell us what you think of our system. Please use it to tell us which words are not working as singulars and plurals. All other concerns can be relayed to us in other posts. Thank you.

What about other variations such as -ed and -ing?

Such as walk, walks, walked, and walking.

I believe walked and walks should not be interchangeable. with the others. I will talk to the tech man and see what we can do for the others.

Why not?

When you look up the word "walk" in a dictionary, you will usually see all of the various tenses included for that word. For example, here is the definition for walk on one of the dictionary websites:

Please give me an instance when "walked" or "walks" would be used in a search and I will review whether we should reconsider our stance.

I'm not sure that I understand your request.

What is the current policy towards the various uses of a word (such as walk, walks, walked, and walking)?

Here are the results for a search with each of those words:

walk: 9151
walks: 80
walked: 9151
walking: 12665

I would think that all of those uses should give the same results. They are just different variations of the same word.

To have "walk" and "walks" have such different results makes no sense IMO.
