I don't know why SS has created an agency of press yes. This enterprise should select four good photographers and send them to cover news in wars, conflicts... Why Not?

Really I see no need for that from SS, they already allow editorial, it's a matter of the photogrs doing it. But most already have a 9-5 and do stock as a hobby and earning the extra $$ lends itself to updated equipment.

Go for it!... Can't wait to see those images.

If I had a good news photo, I would sell it to a newspaper or magazine or something. Maybe after that I might submit the leftovers here.

also why four? there are a lot more things going on then four people even full time could cover.......

They could offer 'media' authentication to proven photographers, an ID pass that allowed us to present ourselves as 'ShutterStock' photographers to events, etc, to get those editorial shots - problem is the potential for behaviour of 'unknown' photog's creating a bad name for ShutterStock... and the issues of that may well out weigh the benefits - however, if we could at least present ourselves as 'Freelance Photographers' shooting for ShutterStock it could go a long way towards helping access things that make for good editorial images...

(Having just shot an Easter Parade as the 'official' photographer, it's on my mind at the moment... most accreditation needs more than just being a 'willing' freelancer... I was lucky, this was church related, so I had an 'in'...)

Cheers,
Stuart
