Tried it and didn't like it. Other than that, most Canon SLRs are expensive for me.

Oh, you didn't like it? Why? I find it very good to work with. It's a litle small in itself, that's why I have the batterypack. But as long as I have that, it's very good to work with.

I don't like the way it feels in my hand. The D50 feels alot better in my hand. It's important how it feels if I'm going to be using it everyday.

Okai. I can see that. I have small hands. All in all, I'm not very big...

Hello, I don't know if you bought the camera already, but you seemed to have made up your mind for the D50, but if you haven't I would recommend to shop around, see camera reviews and if possible try them out. Don't just go by how they feel in your hand, image quality should be your main concern. As somebody said earlier most DSLR are made to render a good image, but there are some differences, the lens is decisive in obtaining a great quality to a o.k. one, but cameras differ also. Here is a link to compare cameras have a look. I have a Digital Rebel XT and in my opinion it's a great camera very close in quality to taht of a Canon 20D

Most are. But not me.

Without the batterypack, the 350D isn't very good. To small. But with the batterypack, it's quite okay.

Look into Nikon's new d80. It's looking like it will be about 1,300 with a lense. The pre-release reviews have been quite good. It will be released in September.

I have the D50 by Nikon and it's a great camera. I bought it at eCost with two lenses (18-55 and 55-200) for about $799.00.

Better get used Canon 1Ds/10D or Nikon D1X/D100.
They are MUCH better in terms of construction, usage and image quality for the same price.
