I don't, I'm no where artistic enough to do that - I can make a photo sing, I can convert it into an illustration (somewhat more convincingly than just running a filter over it, btw), but to create a vector image by hand would just drive me batty - although I'm pretty good at paths now, so maybe I should give it a try sometime - I'd start off with Photoshop CS, because I have it, and I'm told it handles vectors better now... :-) I'm sure those that do create vector illustrations have their favourite packages...

Cheers,
Stuart

This is GREAT!

What version of Illustrator did you want them saved as? I have CS - but the purchasers might not.

Hopefully that'll bring a whole new target audience, who might be seduced into downloading some of the lovingly crafted photographs, too... :-)

The most popular vector editing software are Freehand, Illustrator, and Corel Draw. For now at least SS is only accepting eps file accompanied by jpeg representations. There are a lot of compatibility issues with vectors, and I'm guess that's why they're sticking to eps. This means the files have to be exported as eps rather than saving the files in their native format. Vector drawing is not something you can learn overnight. It is VERY different than paint programs. There are some less expensive shareware vector editing software out there though the names ecsape me right now, but make sure if you go that route they export to eps or be prepared to purchase some software that can convert to eps.

Thanks Jon. What I meant was with Adobe Illustrator, when you save as .eps you automatically get it saved at the CS version of Illustrator. You can also export it to save the .eps as an Illustrator legacy EPS(versions 10 and under). A file that is saved as .eps CS, is not backward compatible to users of older versions of Illustrator (from what I understand).

So my question is, what version of illustrator do you want the .eps saved as (CS, 10, 9, 8, 3).

Maybe the other artists could chime in a say what they think since the only file is going to be the eps. I guess we'll find out from the downloaders anyway if the versions are too high with CS, right.

Anyway, just trying to be proactive.

Thanks for the help.
