DON'T OPEN THIS LINK!!! There is a person spamming the microstock forums with this link, and when you click on it, it will open up an executable file.

What makes the file so big? How big was it? Use of auto-trace, gradients, blends or transparencies can make a file very large. Shutterstock will only accept a version 8 eps file. I'm sorry I can't answer your question as I've never used inkscape. |

Just keep the jpg file small...around 500px width or height (whichever is longer) will do. That's usually what I do anyway. |

Ok this is odd, with my photos they get reviewed within a day....I uploaded 5 vectors almost 6 days ago and they are still sitting there waiting to be reviewed...
I am only concered about this because I am new to "vectoring" and want to know what is up with what I did so far before I do anymore.
How long does it typically take? I believe that they must be reviewed by a different team as the photo people, simply because my photos are still getting accepted/rejected and the vectors and left there in the "waiting pile"
any thoughts? |

I have been drawing vector illustrations in macromedia flash. I decided to upload them here, tried to make money. I exported FLA files in order to import them in illustrator CS2 and exported them in illustrator 8.0 eps format blah blah...
But something went wrong. I got a "declined" e-mail because something was wrong in EPS 8.0 file rendering. e-mail says:
"your EPS files are rendering incorrectly, causing your shapes to appear cut up into smaller chunks. This makes your file difficult to edit and could cause printing problems (you can see the shapes are splitting in outline view). Please double-check your vector EPS export settings to see if you can achieve a smoother export.
If your original file was built in Freehand, go to your Main Menu and select File > Output Options, and make sure that the 'Split Complex Paths' box is unchecked before you export your EPS.
+ Also, in the 'Past/Present/Future man' sample, your EPS file is rendering incorrectly, some gradient fills are displaying as spliced objects and not complete shapes."
Well, my illustrations were done in macromedia flash originally, therefore I need to open them in freehand, (in order to export from freehand) right?
But I experienced problems opening those exported files in illustrator cs2. so I need your help. How can I do it?
I guess, I need to export SWF files to freehand, then export from freehand to illustrator? this is where I am so confused. HELP! HELP!
(by the way, it is terrible news that illustrator 8.0 eps format does not support transparent effects or gradient fills which I used a lot in my illustrations) |

Hi,
I've always wanted to try myself with vectors, but didn't have time for it. Well, now I do have time for vectors (unfortunatelly because I have to rest in bed because of broken leg) so I decided to have a go ...
I have one question, are open paths allowed?
bacuse I've seen some vectors here which are (I think) done with opened paths, like this one (correct me if I'm wrong)
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-562697.html
Well, at least I don't know how to do those lines in the bottom if they are closed paths (I think they are blends of 2 lines)?
Thank you for your answer!
Jasenka
P.S. Sorry for my english :-) |

Hello I am new here, I have numerous photos to upload but found after joining that the min size is 4meg not the 2.5meg it said before signing...
But I have loads of Vector illustrations but finding it hard to convert to eps. Its a shame they dont accept the more advanced pdf. Surpose I will need to install a postscript printer driver and hope it works..... |

I have just spent the whole morning trying to upload my vector drawings and I get nothing but errors !!
I have uploaded vectors first then jpegs and vise-versa and it just keeps throwing errors back at me...
I am using the HTML upload as the other two dont seem to work at all. Obviously something I am doing wrong but dont know what.
This was after reading I needed 2.5meg photos then signed up and found I needed 4meg photos so ALL my photos are no use now ??
Any help would be great !!! |

Upload the EPS file with the corresponding JPEG at the same time. Make sure the names are similar except for the extension (for ex. plant.eps, plant.jpg). You don't have to make the JPEG file that big (500 by 500 pixels should be enough). I hope this helps.

Hi - I'm using illustrator CS2, which works fine for ai files.
but if i save as an eps to be backwards compatible, it loses the exif (keyword) data.
Is there any way to keep that - or any software that allows editing exif on eps files?
thanks |
