If an image comes back rejected because 'you're not looking for photos like this at the current time' then why do they count on your rejections list?

I would assume that there was nothing 'photographically' wrong with the image or that would have been noted in the comments section -- so why do they count against you?

I don't know their mind but my first thought when I get that particular notice is maybe it is a polite way to say they don't feel that the image is marketable as stock within this particular collection of stock.

I beleive theres some true in that but they also might just have a little to much of the same type of image at the time.

Good luck,

Get used to the rejection.

Most professional photographers have had more rejections of work than they can remember. It's all part of the business. And yes, one critics gold is another's garbage.

Put the image back on the shelf and maybe another critic will like it and use it.

basic rule of thumb....

a photographer will shoot a roll of film for one good picture.

That has changed a bit with digital and the I can see it when I shoot it method.

But relativly, if you have a 1 accepted per 10 rejected, youre doing fine its the normal photography way of business.

Typically when I am shooting for stock I keep one photo for every 6-8 that get tossed.
