Okay - that is a good point. The older EN-EL3 batteries will only work in the older Nikon DSLR (such as my old D70 and maybe the D70s). The new batteries the EN-EL3e will work in everything. I am not sure when they stopped making the EN-EL3 but every battery I have except one are the newer ones. I also haven't bought any batteries when I bought my D200. I just used the ones I had (minus the old one) and the one that came with the camera. |

I don't know that I'd buy the D200 just because it has the same CF cards as your older camera. Memory is cheap these days. I just bought the D80 because I didn't need the extra features of the D200 (at least not for the difference in cost). I'd spring for the D200 if I needed the magnesium body and/or a frame rate faster than 3fps. |

I Purchased the Canon - EF 70-200 f2.8L IS USM.
Wow that lense is mammoth in size bigger than what the ads told me.
I got the lense at Pitman in Miami.
I also got the Rebel xt/350 to replace my old 6.2 Rebel. $624.00 had to save here because really I cant even afford the lense. The 30D would have been slightly over, double the price. |

selling stock images is technicaly a business so you can take the lens off your taxes for this year as a business expense

Nope - the D70 battery will not physically fit into the D200. I suppose if you filed a slot for the missing contact it might but that's a bit risky! |

Congrats on the new lens! Once you buy a quality lens you will be hook! Give it a week and you will be eyeing your next "L" series lens! |

Congratulations on your new equipment. I think you made a very good choice in investing more on the lens. Also XT will give you great results.
Try the battery grip if you think the camera is too small/ light for the lens.

i guess it's a wise choice... although the results also might benefit from a better camera, these benefits are much more noticeable when you use a better lens. So it's always better to invest on glass first. This also because the XT is a very fine camera and way up to the standards (i don't like tit due to the size, as i said, but if you're comfortable with it, it's very fine). As i always say to some friends who are not in the business and use cameras mainly for holidays, why buy a 30d (example) and a 150€ lens ? Get a cheaper camera and invest on glass and you'll see the difference.
You can't overestimate the power of an L lens.
Of course in the ideal world we would all buy a 1D MkII and a prime 600mm L lens (OK, some would buy Nikon, i know).... but this is not the ideal world and we always have to make some adjustments to our wishes ;)
Congratulations on your buy... hope you get the most out of it and love it... you have every reason to. |

Thanks Dave! I have not had the time to check that out, so ya saved me another trip to Ritz. I just bought the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR lens, similar to the canon one .
Like your aircraft images, you a pilot or just into aircraft in pommegolia? |
