Hi everybody,
I am looking for homemade holidays cookies from around the world, what kind of biscuits are you cooking for Christmas/Easter/etc for example.
This is for my cooking recipes website. And if you have the recipes that goes with the photo it is even better ;-)
As I have still a lot of credits to spend :-), please keep posting NEW photos of your best homemade specialties... with the real name of the cookies and the country of origin.
Thanks a lot and seasons greetings in advance !!!

You are welcome and here is the photo that was just accepted (Thanks SS). If you choose this photo and want the recipe, just let me know and you can have it. We have been using this same recipe every Christmas for about 30 yrs now - it is a favorite with our family. Not fancy, but really good!
Spiced Ginger Mounds or better known as GingerSnaps
Good luck! |

Hi,
there is a portuguese traditional cake that we eat only on christmas time... i don't know if something like this is made anywhere else in the world but here goes...
This can be made as small as 1kg i guess and up to whatever we want... This wear we made it to the guiness a 200 meter long cake i guess...
this has a funny story that some years ago before the UE imposed all the safety and hygienic rules and stuff, this cake had a small gift and a roasted broad bean inside... the person who got the gift naturally kept it (altough those were always some shitty things)
and the guy who got the broad bean, got to pay the next cake..
This is eaten since mid november or early december until the 6th of january (kings day), but almost everyone has one on christmas eve and in portuguese it's called "Bolo Rei" which literally means King Cake (not King's cake... it's the king of cakes not the cake of kings).
