Hi all,

can you guys tell me how to get your images to be listed as "Super" in size?, I shoot with a 5D M-II but I never make it to the Super version.

Thanks!

That is strange. Even my smallest images are available in "super". Both in JPEG and TIFF

I have some that are and some that arent and it all comes down to the quality of the shot and how much information is contained in the image.

The more info the larger the shot can be.

There's got to be something else, none of my images are super sized. Thanks though.

I totally see what you mean but in most cases the Super images are the same size as mine, so that is what I don't get. At first I thought ah, it's about more pixels but it is not as you can see in this pic. In any case, who knows. Thanks.

What is the setting you have for the size you are saving images at?

Your super for standard liscense is 4608 x 3456 or 15.9mpx and only has 4.0 MB of information to it where as mine is 9364 x 6050 56.6mpx with 41.1 MB of information.

Either your saving at a smaller size in camera or you are downsizing the files when you upload.

The 5D is if i remember a 21mpx camera and it is only saving a 15mpx image so your setting in the camera for saving the file has to be off.

If i got that right, the "Super" size edition is an auto generated resize in case the original ("large") version has dimensions less than 4000 pixels (on its longest side). That means that if you upload a photo that is larger than for example 4000 x 4000 it will not appear as "super". If you upload the same, downsized to 3000 x 3000 it will be resized to super.

The screen capture from before is not one of my images, I just wanted to show you that the photo doesn't necessarily "have" to be larger in pixels to become a "Large" edition, here's an example of one of mine...

braniffman, I think there must be a threshold size beyond which they don't bother offering supersize. My bigger original images don't get supersized. 5DmkII full size files are whoppers to start with so I'm guessing that SS don't feel the need to do the daft upsizing interpolation with them. I may of course be wrong ;)

I dont think this is true because if it were there would be a whole lot of people using a smaller camera because the only way to get an EL (enhanced license) is to have large and super TIFF files and there are a lot of people using the 5D.
