I'm sorry, and I know it's very frustrating, but I think his illustration is not too similar. The difference is, he used the same idea, but made his own illustration. If he used your exact illustration, but maybe added some new pieces, then that would be stealing your art. But we can't stop people from using the same ideas. |

That was my first thought, then I realized that what he did was rotate the image, and "reduce nodes".
Not much of a variation. |

It's true, the stars are in the same positions relative to each other. But the shapes are changed and the background elements are quite different, I just don't think SS will consider it close enough. It might be considered "Abusive inspiration" at IS, but I don't know.
Yienkeat, it can't hurt to ask them to look at it and see what they think. So go ahead and contact them with your links and ask them to take a look. |

Thanks guys. I have tried apply "Simplified Paths" all the way into my artwork and got EXACTLY what he had gotten:
It just a 5 minutes work. Instead of saying similar, I rather say he modified my original working file. Is modification on other people's works allowed in SS?
Actually I don't feel frustrated at all. By just a glance at his work, I immediately knew what effect had he applied into my work. He did entertained me though, I am serious! LOL!
Any other thoughts? I am not in hurry to report yet. :) |

That's amazing. You are right, he must have used your original vector to make this new one. And that is different from "inspiration". I think you should probably explain all this to SS and let them decide. |

You may find a lot of similar but modified works. He didn't even change the sample text part. |

Ah, but he changed some of the colours as well. That makes it totally original.
Yes, I am joking.
It's your call Yienkeat, but for what it's worth I think you should report him and let SS decide. It's something he'll carry on doing. |

I found a few of my works as well.
And just for comparison, I tried the simplify command as well with one of the banners and resulted almost the same.
Of course, with different settings of the simplify command you can get different results, just as he did it a few times, 'cause the same banner of my have been copied several times and he uploaded a few different results of the simplified versions.
He also copied the title and the keywords of my graphic.[/img] |

Oh, and since there is a color adjustment layer in my graphic, he also applied a different color to that layer to change the color theme a bit. |

Those designs are not better than originals. I don't understand how they can hurt your sales.
Person who first submitted an image of star or cube, could accuse other shutterstock members in using his star or cube idea. |

This isn't just about an "idea", but the direct usage of someone else's image as a base for their own one.
That's a difference. No matter in which way the original creator's sales may be concerned or not. |

yes, agree with akaiser. I am not worry about how it will affect my sale or it will definitely not, is the matter of right or wrong. If we let one go by just like that, others will definitely follow and slice through the justice. At the end of the day, the whole SS will ruin with a lot of rubbish.
zsoltercsei, have you reported to support? I have written mine, they acknowledged me they will not let infringement happens in SS, will look into it seriously. But that was a week ago, since then I haven't got any news from them... |
