Apologies if this has been asked, probably has, but I did try to search.

Are there links I can use to refer specific images? On my personal website, I want to have a "buy this photo" link pointing to the specific image page here on SS. Anyway way for me to get some referral dough from that idea?

You can add a referral link which you can find by going to this page

http://submit.shutterstock.com/refinfo.mhtml

You can also use the link to your portfolio or the specific url for one of your images. You can get that by selecting the image you want to promote from your gallery and copying that url.

Thanks Dave. I found all that info already, and I know how I'd link to a specific image. What I'm wondering is, is there a different URL I could use to link to an image that would log me as the referrer? The one you showed me links to my overall portfolio. I know some other stock sites have this feature, just wondering if SS does. I can't find it.

If you're hoping to refer buyers, I think the code you want is this:

Code:
http://www.shutterstock.com/?rid=#####

Replace the
Code:
http://www.shutterstock.com
with the url of your image page, and the ##### with your id number.

I got this from http://submit.shutterstock.com/reforder.mhtml - the link Dave gave you is for when you want to refer new contributors to SS.

Thanks jmci.

That is almost what I want, but the examples direct you to your main portfolio. If I instead put in the url of specific image, will it still work? I guess the only way to find out is to try.

Do you mean like this:

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=70533907

This points the person to the image you want to show them and they can buy it from there.

If you click on the thumbnail when you are looking at the images sold (for instance), you get to the buyers page.
