Hello! I need help with the vector of this one. Here is the jpg:
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=85111705
Saved in .ai it is fine, but as soon as I transform it to .eps 10, it changes into a big unclickable bitmap. I have no hidden layers, no locked layers... first time this ever happened... Anyone can help?
Thanks!

Thanks for the response, but no, I re-did it 3 times and I am saving as EPS 10... |

If this happens to me, with nothing obviously causing the problem, I separate out any elements and copy and paste half each onto two new documents. Save each and repeat the excersise with whichever half has the bitmaps. Eventually you will find the offending object. It may be a bit slow, but you will at least, get to the bottom of the problem :) |

I'll give that a try and will let you know. Thanks! |

Check for compressed round gradients, which are not 100% circle. |

After you save your AI file as EPS10, close it and open it again. Then go to Window - Links, it will open a tab where all bitmapped objects should be listed.
It happened to me once, when I used radial gradient in which on of the colors had opacity reduced to zero. |

Rejection taught me :) And then I found the solution under this link:
http://buzz.shutterstock.com/bitmapping-101-troubleshooting-eps-files-in-illustrator
But its not mentioned there that the freshly saved eps file must be closed and then opened again, otherwise the bitmapped objects wont show in the Links tab. At least in Illustrator CS4 it works this way (or maybe only in my Illustrator CS4 :D...). |

Ok! Thank you all for the help!... I found the offenderS! I had many circles with radial gradients with opacity reduced... The link trick did not work though (even if I closed and opened again in CS4) maybe because I had so many shapes with the problem (between 20-40), it would show the entire image every time. So I took them all out and added different ones, I don't like it as much but it was too much work already done to let it go and too much work to really fix it (33 cents worth!)... so here it is (in queue)...

Yes, you are right - I tried it myself and if the radial gradient is perfect circle, then it doesnt show in the Links tab even if the opacity is reduced. It only shows there if the gradient is elipse-shaped. Still many things to learn..
Since I had one image rejected for this reason, I started to use different method how to achieve the same effect - I remember not to reduce opacity in any color of radial gradient but instead, I use black-white gradient (both colors 100% opacity) and Blend Mode Screen - it gives very similar effect and it never bitmapped to me, even if the shape was elipse.
I made a comparison here in the picture. The only bitmapped one which showed in the Links was the radial gradient in elipse which had one color with reduced opacity. The one in perfect circle didnt show in Links - so my advice was not the best for your case :( Radial gradients are tricksters! :) |

I see. But almost forgot about opacity in gradient. But somebody answered. I had same trouble also before of time. |
