Should a query re. possible misuse of an SS image be sent to Support via the contact form? Is support likely to respond reasonably quickly, or is there a different email address for this? Just wondering as everyone seems to be getting very slow or no response from Support emails at the moment.

Hi algol,

If you have a concern about copyright infringement, you can email all the details to copyrightinfringement@shutterstock.com. You can also email submit@shutterstock.com.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I'd sent a message yesterday via the contact form, but was thinking it was likely to only get a slow response if there's a lot of queries going to Support at the moment.

I've now sent a copy to the copyright infringement email address and added a note that it's a copy message, so hopefully the duplicate won't confuse things.

Oooops!? Is that the right address?

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

Oh no! Whoops! I gave you the wrong address. The correct one is: infringementclaims@shutterstock.com.

That'll teach me to double check before I post. Sorry about that!

So... any ideas how long it should take to get a response? Haven't heard anything yet, other than an autoresponse from the web form last week.

It may take some time for us to investigate the situation but we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Thank you. So long as my message has got through to someone and not disappeared off into the ether then that's fine.

Well it's been nearly 2 weeks since I contacted Support about this and so far not even an acknowlegement... I don't even know if my email to the infringementclaims address was even received.

I realise it takes time to look into these things but all I wanted was advice on what to do about this possible image misuse. Wondering now if it would be better to contact the site where this image is being offered for sale instead, but I wanted an opinion from SS support before I landed someone in trouble. Also would be pointless to get the image removed from one site if SS are in the process of investigating. Any way of getting an update?
