The 20D is an 8MP camera so is fine for microstock.
Use your money to buy some decent lenses if you don't already have them and for macro work you just need a macro lens.
That's it, the rest is up to you in relation to what you shoot and how. Then when you've made some money you can indulge in a more sophisticated camera but the 20D is more than good enough for now and will be for some time. |

Much appreciated.

i have a 60 d for the moment.
it works well but at 200 iso i n shadows you can se noise especialy if you exposed not perfectli and then in post you try to modify lighting.
but also lenses are very important.
If you have come 1.8 lenses it would be great with 60 d too! |

Talk about missing the point, and why do you get uptight? It's only a question, and you have no idea what photo's I intend on taking so why presume that I would want to copy YOU?
If a question 'offends you', then don't' answer it. Very simple really.
I have come to one conclusion though, those of you who have bitched about this aren't actually that good, so perhaps it's you who don't want others to know that you've spunked 1000's away on kit for no good reason? |
Think we have a misunderstanding. I was responding to something someone else said in this thread, and it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I wasn't bashing you. You don't need the top of the line body. You just need one that won't limit you. I've done fine with a D90 and a D7000, and mid-range lenses. |

wow...now I remember why I don't come into these forums. Some one is always acting like he's god's gift to photography...must have spent too much time with his good friend ken rockwell.
as far as the original poster goes, anything above 5mp is fine, learn how to remove the noise.
Heck, I get some in with a point and shoot, and my top seller wasn't even made with a dslr. |
