I finally collected the money for a new DSLR after realy bad year. My budget is about 2400-2500$

Last 15 days I looked at all possible tests on NET. Over My head hurts from all the mighty information about DSLR+good lens. (yes good , no good, ohh this is good but this lens is not good etc etc)

Finally I found a good combination Canon 7D + 24-105 f4l . I understand that it is a crop body and lens for full frame, but the result is quite good for me. And i like zoom lens.

For that money can buy Canon EOS 5D Mark II. But I can take a good lens. (for I have no more money)

I wonder if this equipment is good for Stock jobs Canon EOS 7D + 24-105 or yet to buy a 5D Mark II but inexpensive lens ?

I really love this job and the equipment worm buy now we will serve the business for many years.

Is 7D + 24-105 good equipment for the stock job or not ? And will I be wrong if you buy this equipment ?

Hi

The 7D plus the 24-105 L is a very good choice for stock. The 5D 11 is a great camera, but good lenses are essential and the 24-105 is a good all round L lens. If you can stretch to the 5D great but do not compromise by buying a cheap lens. The 5D will show up every flaw because of its high resolution.

I think it's better to buy better lens + a solid body. Instead buy a good body + poor lens.

+ 16GB 60mb/s card and good tripod. And maybe take an even better card. But 60 its ok for me.

you know what? the 7D is kinda overkill for stock. It depends on what you are shooting to a certain extent but you could get a 60D and have money left over for another lens. IQ wise they are basically the same. If you don't need the autofocus (not that the 60D is bad) or frame rate then you likely won't notice much of a difference (although the viewfinder in the 7D is really nice too)

edit: Just a note, I use a 7D and it is a great camera. I wanted the AF for birds in flight and stuff like that (non-microstock stock generally) so don't think I'm saying that it won't work for you. Just that you can get 90% of the functionality (and more than that from a stock perspective) and have a small pile of cash left over to invest in glass.

Agree with copidosoma post.
You can save money buying 60D and invest more to lens. Great difference btw 7D & 60D is 7D's speed. It is faster enough. You should consider the subjects you are shooting and if you need it. As for the lens 24-105 is a great lens but with cropped censor you have to be ready to buy and ultra wide lens.

Immediately after the purchase 7D+24-105 expensive when the money definitely buy Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. This lens not the best, but for my needs is a great.

2 in my priority list is Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6L Is USM Lens. I'll try some used.

Canon EF 70-300 IS is not a good lens. It is slow and soft at the ends of the range.

Yep, but I offer well maintained used 390 bucks. just because ;) proved to be very bad. But for the money it is worth every cent. The only thing that was used I always like to buy new lens.

Day after tomorrow I'm going to Budapest to buy the store finaly 7D+24-105 , and later we will see.

I believe not but because you wrote the L I was confused. If yes please let me know because I own the above and I think exactly the opposite about its quality.

Like this. To me the lens is very good. I watched the various tests and photos are quite ok. By the way I currently do not have money for this new lens, but my friend sold it to me favorably. The problem is that it is a bit damaged but the glasses are fine. But price is 390 its small for L lens.

I have this lens and can not discuss anything serious, it does not take a dog and personally test it. Apart from what I've seen the tests and some examples. Honestly I do not like to describe a lens who do not possess :) and really would like to have it.

When you buy it and test it I will gladly share their experience with everyone. For now I'll leave it to people who have personally tested. This lens is a beast for my needs and my desires.

Tonight I have to travel I'm off for 2 hours. Tomorrow buy in Shop Canon 7D + 24-105. I just hope that everything will be ok. And after that we will see, what to do next. I must begin seriously to do this job.

Sorry I missed the L. I used to have the 70-300 F4.5-5.6 IS and it was not good. I would definately get the new L version. It looks very good.

I have had the chance to use both the 5d mkii, which i own, and the 7d. Especially with night shots, noise and image quality are noticeably lower on the 7d compared to what you can achieve with the 5d.

So, if it's just for stock, I'd go for the 60d too.
