What is the normal footage review time at the moment, as I have footage waiting to be reviewed that was uploaded days before photos that have been reviewed. |

3 to 4 days or so.
Can't complain really, it's usually weeks or months on other sites.
Shutterstock gets the newest video first. They should market that.

@humbak
Do you have the thumbnail preview of the video clips? |

Some times the thumbs show and sometimes they don't. SS has said to keyword and describe them and submit them anyway. Sometimes the thumbs will be generated during the review. Good luck.
Jan starting a little slow on sales so far. Think positive ;) |

It depends. I had two clips waiting from 29th December which were approved today. Yet I had submitted 24 clips yesterday which were also approved today.
I guess with SS, you can safely assume the waiting time can go up to 2 weeks (at least that has been the case for me), but generally the reviewers are quite prompt.
Also, sometimes when you upload, the thumbnail does not show in the "Waiting to be submitted" area. The rule of thumb that I have found is this:
a) Wait till say 8-12 hours and see if they are being shown
b) if not, check in the "Status of your submitted footage" section. If the thumbnail is not there, you would probably see an asterix mark and probably some sort of error message saying the preview is not available or something.
If that is the case, I would suggest delete the submission and upload again.
Also, for approved clips not appearing in the preview section, I would suggest waiting. It does not show up for a few days if you are unlucky and then it pops up.
I would imagine there is a bug in the application that indexes and generates previews etc. And SS team probably is working on it. |
