After January payment, I must sadly say my US sales dropped to only 13% from total. Before the bug which started in October, it was 25. I dont know, as there are still "some" sales from US, I guess it just means I must try harder. But the drop makes me wonder. Back to the drawing board then. |

Today all my latest downloads on the map, are from the U.S, many in Mexico and South America and even a few in Canada... None in the East... |

My sales, from a small portfolio, are from all over the world (not canada, but i never had those).
Africa, USA, Mexico and Brazil Argentina. I even had one sale from Japan or Korea a few days ago.
Europe has always been my main market, btw |

Something has changed in regard to my port over the last year. I could count on new images having reasonably good sales and I could count on a reasonable number of image sales during US business hours PST.
I have been keeping track of images sales in the US and over the last 32 days they continue to be abysmally low... so low in fact that I used to receive better sales during US business hours for just one image in one day than I have over the last month with my entire port. This makes no sense at all since I have added new images to my port since then. Images are selling overseas and based on the contents of my port it makes no sense that they do not also sell in the states.
I am certain that there is something wrong, Please take the time to find out what it is. |

I've just started uploading images in the last couple of weeks -- so my experience is brand new.
I've been startled to realize that most sales seem to be coming from points all over Europe. And very occasionally from places like Australia, Argentina and I think the Middle East. Very few from the US -- and like you, I've noticed that no sales register during US waking hours.
What gives? I didn't expect this. Has anyone noticed this sort of pattern on other micro sites? |

I sell mostly in Asia as my best sellers are Asian themes but what surprises me is the astonishing amount of downloads from that most western spot of Africa, it was already discussed in another thread. I have been watching my sales more carefully for last few weeks and tried to make some statistics (from mid-December till now):
Asia - 31%
Both Americas - 27% (USA itself 16%)
Europe - 22%
strange spot on Western African coast - 17%
Australia and Africa - 3%
I hardly ever sell in Canada and Australia but these markets are rather small if you think about the population size.
But I would really like to know what is that location in Western Africa - someone suggested that its a spot on the world map showing downloads from locations which cannot be identified. Maybe it includes partly the US sales too. |

I think I figured it out. I put on my reading glasses this morning and clicked Stats to see how I did overnight. The usual scatter and the last one was that strange spot in Africa.
Upon closer inspection, all the rest have a little dot in the upper left corner, showing the location. The thumbnails "in Africa" have no dot and are by an odd co-incidence placed dead center in the map.
So my hypothesis is, any sale without UNKNOWN location data is placed in the center of the map which to us appears to be Africa, but there's no dot! :-)
Original images have been replaced to protect them from "inspirational" motivation to be re-created... |

True, true.. great observation :) I wouldnt have noticed the missing dot myself. I guess you are right, they must be some "unidentified flying customers" :) |

Great observation! I already thought that for some strange reason someone from the Capeverdian islands was buying my entire portfolio. And indeed: no dot! |
