Hi,
Curious if the contracts offered are for you to be exclusive to them or not.
They wanted me to sign on with them, but on an exclusive basis...

I would read the contract VERY carefully, and ask the Senior Art Director (Simon, I think, I'm currently out of town and can't remember) about this as I specifically asked if signing on with them would still leave me free to submit to other RF agencies.... He replied that they wanted to sign me on as exclusive....

I wonder if people are getting different contracts maybe based on their initial submissions.. They don't require me to be exclusive. It states clearly in my contract. I haven't returned it yet though.

1 Inmagine is appointed as the agent for the non-exclusive Worldwide sales of the stock Pictures provided to Inmagine by the Photographer.

Mine is the same as pjm's;

"Inmagine is appointed as the agent for the non-exclusive Worldwide sales of the stock Pictures provided to Inmagine by the Photographer. "

So is anyone taking this offer? How many images do you have up, and what are the sales like so far?

I haven't sent my contract back yet but will do. From the rest of the thread it seems that submissions aren't up and running yet but I'll wait and see... I'll be submitting via FTP so it shouldn't be any different really to submitting here. I also have a feeling that the returns will be the same too... but I'll wait and see that too...

I guess the first month payout will decide if it's worth continuing...

Interesting... I was out of town, to return to another email which stated they were now willing to offer me a NON exclusive contract, however, photos I submitted to them would not be able to submitted to the microagencies...

Is any of this in your contracts? It does appear that they may be offering different contracts. I am not interested in going exclusive, nor in going nonexclusive if it means separating from Shutterstock :)

Carolina - just guessing, but most people have been offered a contract with their subscription site, 123RoyaltyFree, which goes live on June 1st. Maybe you have been offered a contract for the Inmagine non subscription side of the business, in which case it could be reasonable for them to ask that you don't submit the same photos for micropayments?

Carolina, I think you will have to state that you want to upload to 123rf, and not to be part of the other part of inmagine. Simon is the guy in charge of the other part of their business. For 123rf I have been dealing with a girl called mimi and she is the one in charge of getting the photos for this site. I have already uploaded some images, will see how it goes as TravelLight stated, they are launching on June 1st.

Thank you, TravelLight and andresr :)

I was getting a bit confused, but it was Simon who responded to my first email contact, and I just used the link that was originally posted in this thread...

This is one paragraph in Simon's last email to me:

We are currently searching Shutterstock for non-exclusive photographers to
submit for our subscription site but consider your photographs to be
towards Royalty Free or Rights Managed stock.

Andresr.... Does your contract with 123rf allow you to continue to submit the SAME pics to the microsites?? If so, would you consider telling me how to contact Mimi?

Mr. Dayton actually wanted to discuss an 'assignment' with me (I have access to the medical world), but I want to maintain my position of beign able to submit anything I do to Shutterstock. I like the idea of growing with Shutterstock. I like their management and savvy and believe they will (if not already) capture a significant audience of buyers.

Thanks for any info,
Carolina
