Hi guys!
I've been out of town for quite a while and then was busy with other projects. Now I thought, I should start uploading again. What shall I say ...? Usually, it took two or three days to get my vectors reviewed - now I have images pending since last sunday and I don't like the idea, that they will (most likely) make it in at the weekend. Not at all.
What's going on? Did I miss something??
Are you experiencing the same?
Greetings to everyone! :)

Well, this is just a theory....
The crisis is causing people to get laid off, some of them must be trying to make a living off of stock material to earn at least something. (And you know the graphic business got hit hardest by the crisis)
Otherwise I have no explanation why it's taking so much longer to review our work. |

You may be right ...
Meanwhile, I had a look at the bugs & glitches section - I'm obviously not the only one who's waiting. I guess, I'll drop the support team some lines. Most likely I'll end up with a standard answer, anyways, but it's worth a try. :) |

I just had some stuff approved that I edited and got to go through last weekend (after the ftp issues). Just in time for the weekend!
The FTP issues they had may have caused a backlog. |

Hi Anja, welcome back! Yes, there have been a lot of complaints lately about review times. I think I read a response somewhere from ForumGuru, that 7 days for review would be normal. If it takes longer, there might be a problem. However, they don't explain why it is now taking so much longer than it used to.
Remember when we could get a vector approved in a few hours? |

Absolutely. *sigh*
Hi Evan, hi Mr.Bigl! Nice to read you, guys! :)
How are you?
Actually, I wasn't around for a while. I wasn't aware of those ftp problems ... or whatever is going wrong in here. I guess, it doesn't make too much sense to write support tickets in this case. With a little bit of good luck it's going to take a complete week and my images will be online on monday morning. Almost perfect - except of the fact, that one of them is a Valentines set. *g |

There seem to be a few discussions going on about this. Based on what people are seeing, and also a comment from SS in the General Shutterstock Submit Discussion
forum, up to 7 days now seems to be the new "normal" around here. The batch I just had reviewed took just under 7 days to go through.
I actually don't mind, but I did find it odd, since SS used to be pretty quick with reviews. Knowing how things seem to be taking the better part of a week just means that we need to plan accordingly. I'm not a big fan of having new stuff go into the system on a Friday or weekend, so no uploads on weekends. Probably the ideal time to upload is going to be Tuesdays, so images will likely hit the search on the following Mondays (or at worst, Tuesdays). |

lately I was uploading quite regularly since November. Something happened around end of January. Up until then the reviews were very fast and then suddenly went from less than 1 day to 7-8.
Obviously I wrote to support, but just received the usual answer that comes with the confirmation e-mail, about 'times may vary, allow bla bla hours ...' No specific answer why this has changed so suddenly. |

Could be something to do with all the IS exclusives jumping ship and uploading their complete ports here. SS has been encouraging them to upload and wait til their exclusive time expires.

Mike, that's actually the first sensible answer I've seen so far. That would explain why the reviewers have more work and at the same time the number of new images didn't rise significantly. |

Well, that's probably the case then. Alas, but that also means that review times will get back to normal in the long run, won't it? |

Hi David! :)
I'm fine, thanks! I took a break from the stock world because of a complete lack of motivation around christmas time - in other words: I was simply lazy. :)
Stai bene anche tu?
Mine are in now, too. Finally. On a saturday afternoon. Hooray. That's like digging a deep, deep hole, putting your working hours in and ... well, it is like it is.
Next time I'll try a tuesday or wednesdy instead, I guess.
@Mike: Are the iS exclusives *still* jumping ship or has something new happened over there?? Looks like I missed even more than I was aware of! Maybe I should have a look at their forums as well in order to get an update ... although I don't like them. *g |

Hi Anja, there have been a few posts in the last couple of weeks from former IS exclusive photographers asking questions regarding continuing to upload here while their port is still opted out, until their exclusivity ends, so there are certainly a few still moving. Thats the only real evidence I have.
