I was hoping it stays forever.
It so much pain to submit photos now.
Why can't we get back tge old one, which is much more usable?
This new one slows down work to much... |

I agree. I spend twice as much time re-keywording my uploads because the editor turns all of my comma separated keywords into one giant keyword. It takes time to copy and paste when it should just be read properly. |

Yes
This way Shutterstock became one of the sites that hardest to submit to.
Actually, there are some positive things in the new editor. Like saving your work without sumbmiting, adding releases before submiting...
But how it handles keywords is a disaster. Really. This keywords turning to little boxes thing is just a big pain for us. Why can't we have just a simple text box with the keywords separated by comas, like before? That's way easier to edit.
One more thing I seriously dislike: When you submit photos and there are errors with some of them, the error-free ones get submited, the rest not. This way most of our batches are torn apart to smaller ones... |

This problem is resolved by hitting enter after typing each keyword (for people not having the keywords already included in the image meta data) but I agree that the batch editor was better for entering keywords and preferred using it over the other options until it disappeared recently. |

With the new editor it is so much easier if you keyword before uploading. Then none of the problems mentioned occur.

I always include the keywords coma separated in each file's IPTC data.
No problem on any other site I submit to (about 15-20) but on Shutterstock. Here it appears as one huge keyword. This bug is here since last summer. It was easy to fix in the legacy editor, but huge pain in the new one |

I do the same keyword before uploading. All sites separate out my keywords and I comma separate them. Why is this editor not recognizing it? |

I put commas between my keywords in PS, but when it saves the files it changes them to semi-colons ;;; (PS CS4). Never had a problem with SS or any other site not recognizing the separation. |

I think the problem is the way you are comma separating. The comma does not automatically define a new word, a space does. The comma shows the end of a word and followed by a space the editor knows where to separate words. For example...
landscape, countryside, english, fields, - would all be read as one word, but...
landscape, countryside, english, fields - would be read as four separate words becasue of the space after the comma.
Try it, hopefully this solves your probems.

As much as this is going to aggravate some people, you are correct. Spaces matter. I haven't had any problems because of the way I enter my keywords and use Breeze Browser as the final edit, but I can see how it would be a problem.
I put the words into the Metadata. Only place I add them afterwords is that one that doesn't read them. ;-) |

I have done same and no problems with new editor. I also keyword in bridge. It works whether I put spaces or not after the comma.

Ah, commas. They weren't required with the Batch Editor, which may have confused some people (e.g. me) as to why when entering words with just spaces between them in the new editor it groups them as one word.

I have always used comas and spaces, for separating keywords in the IPTC data.
Like this:
keyword1, keyword2, keyword3, keyword
It is good for all sites I submit to, and it used to be good for Shutterstock until last summer.
Since then the new editor imports them as one huge keyword. When I switched to the Legacy Editor the keywords that I entered appeared like this:
"keyword1, keyword2, keyword3, keyword"
I never knew why those characters appeared at the beginning and at the end, but it was relatively easy to fix in the Legacy editor, just removing those.
In the new editor it's very annoying to copy the keywords manually from my files.
And I don't see the point of this whole "entered words convert to little boxes" system. It just makes editing very difficult. When ther is a small typo in a word, you have to delete and re-enter the whole word instead of just correcting the typo.
The new editor would be quite usabe if there were simple textboxes for the keywords, like before.
All in all, it was much easier the work with the Legacy Editor |

Just discovered something:
If I enter a " " sign somewhere between the keywords then all the words are imported properly... |

I hate the new editor and really miss the legacy version. I don't have problems with the keywords, but it now goes through so many clicks to get anywhere. Why do stock sites always need to add so much extra time-wasting junk? What happens to keeping it simple? |
