We can't really help you much without the crops but even without the crops I think you might have a problem with composition and also LCV.

I can tell you the middle one is a no go even without the crops it is full of noise and the lighting is wrong.

oops noticed it was the crop, then the bottom one is a no go because of noise and oof.

Agreed, the second too noisy, the first doesn't satisfy compositionally, and we need to see 100%

The middle one is the crop from the bottom image. But it is full of noise, not in focus, and underexposed (even for a moody effect).

When you hit your limit of 3 images per post, just hit "Post Reply" and add up to 3 more images each time. That way the crop from the top image can be included. Compositionally, the tree would look better like this (although bare trees are a dime a dozen):

I'm going to respectfully disagree with digigandalf about the IMGP2128snowcloud.jpg picture being too dark. You have detail in the shadows and the highlights are not blown out, that's all you can ask for. I don't like the branches on the left. It's right over the brightest part of the clouds. I wish you would have moved down the road so that branches would not have been in the picture.

I am going to point out to Mike that it is rather a moot point, since the image is both OOF and noisy :-)

A summer image this time. The dog is intentionally out of focus in the background.

The pony is absolutely adorable, but it's OOF, you should be able to see the individual mane hairs in your crop clearly and not just as a general blur of white hairs.
I hope you can go back and reshoot - a cute pony with a gorgeous mane like that would have CV.

Also - don't place the subject right in the middle of the pic, remember the rule of thirds.

In your flower pic the stamens should be sharp. The background does not make the image any better, either.

I agree, focus is the main issue. Exactly what methods are you using for focusing? Are you going manual? Auto? Spot focus? Are you using a tripod or if handheld is your shutter speed at least 3 times the focal length of the lens?

Sadly no chance to reshoot - was taken on holiday.

Re comment on focus, these pics were handheld on autofocus.

Comments really appreciated - thanks.

That's right, I think it is an OOF and noisy, good exposure. I should have added more to my explanation. I wanted to point out that sometimes there is one part of a picture that is good and a whole bunch of parts that are bad. The one good part does not trump the many bad parts, but it is one less thing to be corrected in the future.

look for the picture in the scene. Do not just snap the whole thing. Learn to correct your CA and WB. Here is a little portion of one one your images. Consider the composition and how it may be used. It has to be more than a holiday record.
