There's a thingie called a "bicycle"? ;-) My island's not very friendly to bicycles however. I also almost got robbed by the skin of my teeth while street shooting.
Nowadays, I always travel with a machete at my side as a deterrent when I hike outdoors. The dry season just came like that a few days ago. Whammo! Time to start planning for some outdoor trips. |

Nup. For several reasons that's just not an option.
I'm hoping that once this terrible March is over, there'll be some nice Autumn days that are sunny but not too harsh, like they often are in Summer.
October and March are known for their grey, windy days here. Only this year the pouring rain and storms (flooding both North and South of here, recently) have come along for the party.
You certainly sound like you're in a 'picturesque' location! |

Ha Ha Ha... if bicycle and motorbike road-kill gory images are in great demand, yes, I am certainly in the right location. |

Back to the critique for a moment. I'm intrigued by the trolley and peppers shot - is that a full size trolley? If it is, those are some seriously large peppers compared to the ones on sale in this country! |

They'd have to be very big Easter eggs and bottles of beer, too! |

I was thinking the same, or rather I want one of those bottles of beer!
Never seen any that size in NZ, but then who knows I have only been going there every year for the last 27 years, and may not have seen everything to see there at least once :-) |

And they say everything is bigger in Texas. ;-)
Over here it's a perspective thing. The trolleys are made for Hobbits. |

Well on reflection, I have seen a few Hobbits there, so it would be logical to have trolleys made for them :-) |

I do wish I am surround by such resources, otherwise I would have spend more time outdoors, hopefully not to feed the golf-sized mossies. Kenny123 is in his element, hopefully with a bottle of 12 year single malt to keep him warm ;-) |
Unfortunately the weather hasn't been cooperating to allow me to get out and shoot. It's either been teeming with rain, or really windy (and my tripod's a heap of junk.) Add that to the fact that when the weather IS cooperating, I need to use it for constructive stuff, outdoor chores to get done before Autumn and Winter hit.
And with the price of petrol these days, going for an hour or so's drive to take practice photos is a luxury that I can't afford right now.
So the "pristine, natural beauty" will have to wait until the weather and wallet allow it, I'm afraid. |
This excuse just isn't gonna fly. I guarantee you there are 25 great shots 25 ft from where you are right now.Your job is to see them. |

Yes, there are and I do see them. And as soon as the weather allows and my technique 'gets there' I'll shoot them. |

I tried to get some monarch butterflies from my garden a couple of weeks ago but they all came out blurred (I just can't seem to get the focus down) and it was too breezy to get any vegetation shots.
In the meantime I've been trying some indoor shots or working on learning photoshop skills. |
