Hi all

I can't find an answer to this in the submission guidelines - sorry if this question has been asked before.

I want to submit an image as an enhanced license tiff. I've uploaded the tiff, but I can't see where to choose anything about the license options.

Do I upload a JPG at the same time?

Your advice will be appreciated!

Unfortunately, that's not really an option you can 'choose'. :P The buyer chooses that option if they want to use your image for a large print run for dome other specific criteria.

Any image in your port can can used for an extended license unless you 'opt out' and tell shutterstock you don't want them to be. But I think you have to decided that for your whole port and not on an image by image basis. Not sure I haven't tried doing that.

Thanks for that, it answers my one question. But I'd have to have uploaded a high res tiff version for that option to be available to them, as well as a JPG?
That's where I'm a bit stuck.

No you don't have to upload a tiff file. SS just turns them into jpgs anyway. They have an interpolation program that boosts up the size for the buyer. At least that's what I think they call it.

I see, and the size I upload as a JPG is going to be the max size - i.e. "Super" size JPG and the "Super" size of the TIFF?

If so, is there any advice on what the ideal size is to upload - the only guideline I've read is the minimum of 4Mp?

Thanks!

That's the minimum size (4mp) the largest illustrators can upload is 25mp (5000px X 5000px). So anywhere between 4mp and 25mp though I've never taken a jpg up to the maximum for an illustration. Some have seen rejections that their images are over 25mp. I think the max I've done is 4500 px X 4500 px but can't remember what size is the cutoff for the Super size enhanced. I have one that's 4500x4500 and the super option isn't available. We get paid the same $28 regardless of which one they choose.

Thank you, that helps. I've been looking through some examples, and it seems that only the S and M sizes are consistent - 500x500 and 1000x1000.
The L ranges between 2100x2100 and 4000x4000 and Super between 4200x4200 and 5800x5800.

It's confusing. I'd like to be sure that I at least get the image into the enhanced large bracket, but I'm curious as to what dimensions bump it into Super!

They'll be in the enhanced area automatically unless you set your account to be opted out of ELs. Just the size of it. I know there was a thread regarding this a year or so ago. Let me see if I can find it.

I realize this post is old and hope that someone will find this. I am confused about what apotterdd is saying here. Are Large Illustrations considered Enhanced? I cannot find that stated anywhere on Shutterstock. Am I missing something? Does SS pay $28 for Large illustrations, or just for Enhanced Tiffs? Thanks

You can sell vectors under enhanced license, also, it depends of desired number of printing copies I think.
As much as I know you can not upload photos in tiff format, it is automated by SS.
The thing you have to do is to check opt in for enhanced license in your account settings.
I am not an expert in this all, this is my experience and what I understand reading posts and guidelines.

Thank you for the quick response macorko. I'm afraid I still don't understand why "large" is not mentioned on the earnings schedule (please see previously attached image). Does that mean that if I create a 4500 x 4500 raster version of a vector image (which should not be up-scaled since it is more than 15 MP) and someone were to purchase it, I would receive the same $28 as I would for an Enhanced Tiff (which SS creates)? Thank you for your time.

EL AKA Enhanced License is for a production run of more then 250,000 and the size doesn't matter.
