But never heard from people who got their missing images back in their port. Does it really help to post in that thread or should one contact to support ?
please tell about your missing images that after how many days they came back to your port or are they still missing ?
I have been facing these missing images bug for last 2 submission. so frustrating. long waiting period and then once accepted, they are missing. i afraid if i loose them permanently ! |

Make sure the tab on your port is on new images, otherwise they wont show up because they havent been indexed for popularity yet. |

Post it in the bugs section and also email support so they have a report of what your problem is.
When I had some images go missing they were gone for about 4 days then came back. Others have had different times from less than a day to more than I had to wait.
I just wonder why the bug is still active. They have been working on it for months now. |

Yes semmic i know that. They are really missing. Total image count in my port is same even after approval mails.
Dave its really frustrating. If images dont sell then we can make effort to produce better images and can try to improve port but missing images that too after so long waiting period is making me mad. i am facing it for many days. Do all missing images really come back to port one day or they may be lost also for ever ?
Strange that when 1st time i missed my images i contacted support and after few days when support replied me, my images were in my gallery that day. and support mail was saying your images are in your port only. It is coincidence or not but when ever i submit images to tuesday (according to local time) i miss them |

submit the batch numbers to the missing photos thread and they should reappear in about a day or less. I've had many batches go missing. They always show up pretty quickly after posting the numbers to that thread. |

Oh. Really ? thank you for the information Jenn. Though my last batches are still missing. I have posted the new missing batch IDs there. and also sent a mail to support. Hope this will work soon. |

I have not heard of anyone's images going permanently missing. All that I have heard from say they do come back. It is frustrating because it has been going on for so long which I don't understand. I work as the national training director for a software company and if we hear of a problem we damn well better get it fixed and quickly. It does seem that the problem is not as wide spread as it used to be. |

Personally it takes up to three days for the images to show in the portfolio, sometimes a weekend. But they appear in the "NEW" and searches before that, so they are visible to buyers faster.
Could be I'm just patient, I've never written on the forum alerting about an image missing or sent a message to support, and they all get processed eventually.
Kind of like having a walk button on a crosswalk that's not connected to anything. People feel good that they pushed the button and tend to wait because it gives the impression that there's something in progress. When the fact is, the timer is already running and it just takes a little time. (theory here is they get moved when the database is indexed, not because people write and post messages here...)
If it's over a week, then I'd say, there is a problem! If it's a few days, that's pretty normal right now.
I've had photos that were not showing in my port, get sales for the two days before they appeared. So if it's licenses to buyers = money... and not me just peeping. I'm happy.
Try this. 30,000 artists, at least 2500 active every week, 10,000 new images a day. Lets say 1000 people write and ask "where are my photos in batch ######" how long does it take to open and read each of those emails and take a look?
If they could do 1 a minute, 9-5 with lunch. That's 480 a day. Oh oh, every day, there are twice as many emails as one person working full time can read. (many times duplicates because some folks get nervous and write a couple times a day)
So now they put on two full time staffers, just to read support emails. What does that cost SS a year? How does that $50-$70,000 come out of our profits, because people want to know, right now, "where are my images"?
This isn't all about me and I'm not the only one working here. There are ten thousand people from around the world, hitting the site for access, uploading, trying to make a quarter. And the hypothetical 1000 emails a day, isn't that far from the truth.
Look at the people who come to the forum every day, and that's a tiny percentage of the members here. It's fairly clear that this is normal and it takes some time for images to get cataloged into our collections.
"18,825,696 royalty-free stock photos / 91,026 new stock photos added this week" Almost 100,000 new images a week? It takes some processing to handle all that.
I'm sure that SS is doing the best they can. It's income for ShutterStock also when new images go active and buyers can see them. |

You are right Pete. But one bug for how many days more ? why SS is unable to fix it ? is it bigger problem for SS software engineers than we think ? Its fairly common such bugs in the other sites also but we can atleast hope that world biggest microstock agency can fix a bug soon ! |

Yes, I'm way to passive. (some days?) And yes, if they could make it work, they wouldn't need two people reading emails, full time. LOL
I think if you look back, this bug has been here and there for something like years now. Just that more and more people are getting hit by it.
When it was once now and then, it wasn't a big issue, now it seems a standard "feature" for all uploads.
I bet the people trying to fix this are racking their brains for an answer. This costs them money too, not just us. |

yeah. Thats is my 'the point'
One can understand its frustration when he himself is in this missing problem and i think now almost all members understand each others' frustration (in this matter). lol |

I've just been ignoring it. They come back on their own. I'm missing some from my most recent batch. It's annoying to see them show up, then disappear and have to worry if that ruins their sales potential. |

Yes. What else can we do other than ignoring and contacting support. just that they should come online one day and must not be lost. further they should sell with same potential as fresh ones and come up on search as new files.

No need to be be sorry semmick. what you suggested is very helpful for newcomers. Even i was wondering when entered to SS 1st time and with the help of ss members only i started learning about SS and way to deal with different section of SS. |
