Anyone own this lens? I want to upgrade the 70-300 f4-5.6 I have because it creates some rather soft images at 300mm. I really dont want to drop major coin on f2.8 lens right now, but may in the future. I'd like to have a zoom lens, but was wondering if my images would be better with just a fixed lens, like the 400m f4?
TIA

I bought this lens for my wife, Littledutchgirl. Glad I did. I shoot mostly with the 70-200mm f2.8L IS and the 24-105mm f4L IS, but I have some here with this lens. Now, in my wife's case, most of the images that she has have been done with this lens.

Only thing you need to be careful of is that this lens wants lots of light to get a good image. The more, the better. Otherwise, great lens.

Wow, those are some great images your wife has. Thanks for the link. I dont think light will be an issue with what I plan on using it for- mainly landscapes, nature and airplanes.

If you can, rent one for a a day or 2 and see if its what you want.

I'll pass on the compliment. :)
