Gonna give this another shot.. Its been a few years since my first try and subsequent rejection. I've just been taking in all the immense information and examples provided here, so I think Im ready to try again..
Does B&W work here? I know the DoF is shallow, but the key points on the face I feel are in focus..

In a state park... Does it need a property release?
Too over saturated?

OOF, lighting, composition.
And you would need to check the parks policies on photographing.

What would you change on composition. This is a crop of the full photo, its just there are alot of distracting branches I had to cut out..

Rule of Thirds. Put your subject 1/3 in from the edge. That should leave enough space for any text.
What lenses/camera are you using? Are you tripod-ing all shots? These seem to be more OOF than they should be.

Yep, I almost never shoot without a tripod. I, like most new people, am having a very tough time with focus. I rely mainly on auto focus as it usually trump's my own eye in MF.
Here's the stone building, cropped differently..

More like this and bullets have copyright/trademark on them and reviewer may mistake casing with having noise in it.

None of these will work my friend. bad exposure,Composition, copyrights, over processing and Focus especially the B&w. "The key points in the face" are badly OOF also the B&W conversion is not very good. Sorry.

You can read the name on the base of the bullets. Also that shot has a white balance problem. On the orange side.

Good concept, but strange color balance, and you need to erase the name on the base of the cartridges.
Mans face is dfinitely out of focus, needs to be much sharper.
Unless you have a lens with VR/IS give up the idea that you can hand hold a camera, it is obvious from your examples that you cannot and get sharp images.
I am very concerned that you considered the important points to be in focus, because if you cannot see that this portrait is way out of focus due to movement then we cannot help you.
Images that are OOF due to auto focus or the photographer picking the wrong aperture or focal point always have some part of the image that IS in focus, images that are soft or OOF due to movement have no part of the image which is actually sharp, as is the case with your images.
Get used to using a tripod or at least a monopod.

Watch out with WB, this might be intentional (toned, tinted) but editors might not see it that way:

Yea, I understand about the WB maybe being seen as off, but that's the way I intended it to be. Kind of that subtle camo look with really soft lighting to match the brass and olivedrab book cover. I shot it with 2700k lights here and again with 5500k strobes and these came out looking way better IMHO.
