following 5 months of an incredible trip around mexico, shooting everything and anything that was lucky or unlucky enough to get in our path :-)...here is the first little video. mexico was making the classic shape volkswagen beetles until a few years ago, and the car is everywhere in every colour, condition and state. we photographed just over 500 to make this sequence... -

being able to shoot every day for 5 months was awesome. we were able to experiment and try our new ideas. now starting the editing process and have 4000 gigs of data to work through... i am hoping there is around 4000 stock clips in there...
i feel very lucky that video stock has allowed this trip and hopefully others to follow.... |

4000 clips to process, that will be pain in the ass :)
I saw photos from your trip on facebook, it looks like lot of fun.
And it`s true that thanks to stock video you can travel and earn some money. |

Really nice, I had to go back and forth, stop and start until I finally saw the ragtop green chopped off convertible.
There's another car in there, looks like it had an accident, but has expensive wheels and extra wide sport tires. LOL
Quite a history of models, mods and years.
Great! Next time do the VW Things too?
So why is the righting reversed in most of the shots?
I hope you don't mind if I steal the concept for a day at the races, vintage race cars. I should be able to get a hundred in one weekend?
How many cars in the sequence? |

thanks for the comments!
yes editing is going to be tough, but fun. i put in some new solid state drives into my macpro to help speed things up. been at it for a week now. its cool to look back on the trip and finally see what we have...
-----
the van is a beetle with a customised van back..
-----
the writing is reversed as all the cars have to face the same way and if we found a beetle parked in the opposite direction that was a nice one, i shot it and reversed it. i thought overall it's an ok compromise.
yes feel free to try something similar.. good luck!
there are just over 500 cars in it...
we went to cuba at the end of the trip for a few days. i made a collection of vintage cars shot front on.. but won't get to editing that for another 2 or 3 months i reckon. |

That's great, thanks for sharing the clip! You must have had a field day shooting those pictures, very nice.
Good luck editing all that material too! |
