Please critique these images of a little girl in traditional Indian dress.

Even after a lot experimentation in photoshop have not been able to get the 'pop' in Image 1, they still look a bit dull. Please advise on how to make the image colors richer ....

Oops how did i mess up the background.

Say, how do you folks check for the minor remaining bits and bobs missed in the isolation ?

You are running from under exposed to an incorrect white balance. Did you make any changes in your settings between shots or is it from doing things in Photoshop?

If you get your lighting and white balance set (make sure you do test shots and check them before proceeding) you should be good to go. Just enhance in PS.

As far as checking the background open the image in PS go to adjustments>levels then take the far left slider in the levels window and move it all the way to the right and you will see the areas you missed.

I can clearly see it without doing that in your thumbnail. Can you not see it? If not, You better calibrate that monitor, It's very strong. You working on a laptop.?

This is what it should look like
You had two problems one of the background not being 255,255,255, and the other the light on Nikita was falling off, in that lower down on her body the lighting was not a good as her head, so would get dinged for poor lighting

I think i do need to calibrate the monitor, is there any simple technique which you pros use for doing this (without the expensive hardware stuff i.e.) ?

I'm on a laptop, and the brown in the background practically shouted at me.

Spyder is one calibration tool many have found useful, and not too expensive.

Discovered another problem, seems to be reflected red color on the lower left arm. How do you avoid / correct this ?

It happens a lot. sometimes you can just lasso it off and desaturate the red but it will leave some ugly other stuff. or rebuild the arm with cloning. It happens on skin that is in shadow.it's probably under her chin also.
