Hi guys,

Lately I am in a bit of a pickle with keywording and using US or UK spelling.

Words like colour, colourful colours in the UK are spelled color, colorful and colors in US.

Digitise, organise in the UK, digitize, organize in the US.

etc etc.

Normally you only have 50 keywords and if you need to get all spelling covered, thats not enough for some photos.

What language would have the most hits? And also, if I spell for example colour, would I miss out on people searching for color?

I and some others already talked about this last year i believe and we agree using both color and colour are best.

And since then i have used both as have others.

Ok, I need to start key wording as such then.

Its going to be a pain, to delete and reload photos to get the key wording right. I wish I had done the key wording better from the start.

You don't "delete and reload photos" you just go in and edit the keywords.

You cant on accepted photos. Only certain sites offer that without resubmission.

You are correct, I had mistaken it with requeuing.

Can I change keywords after I upload a photo?
Yes. Simply go to your list of approved or pending photos and click on the pencil icon. Any modifications to the description, categories or keywords will result in the re-queuing of your photo for approval.

You must be talking about FT. SS allows editing.

In spite of what it says there, I've never known changing keywords to result in an image going back through the approval process. The changes just might take a little while to appear, depending on how quickly the server updates.

Unless things have changed, I remember reading in their instructions way back that you don't need all the variants of a word. Singular or plural, not both. No need to and -ing to verbs or any tenses. Their search engine supposedly brings up the variants of any keyword entered. I've even had keywords dropped by their system on submsission for being redundant.

Just did a test search using "color" vs. "colour" and got exactly the same results.
