Dear Contributors:

As you probably noticed, we continue to experience issues with some old and new images not appearing properly in your portfolios at this time. Our tech department is working hard to correct the issue(s) and we expect the images to be back soon.

Every "missing" image can be searched by ID number and a large number of "missing" images can also be searched by keywords. There is no need to report the missing images to us. Do know that we are very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

Sincerely,

And how is a buyer to know what they want by image number?

I mean if they are looking for a lets say a Monarch Butterfly they just pick a number like say 74451459 and hope for Monarch?

Cause if so that number correlates to "This image pending approval or doesn't exist"?

Exactly.

And what about images pending inspection? Are some of them invisible to the reviewers as well? Because I have a few editorials that have been awaiting approval for some time, while the ones I added later, have already been reviewed / approved/ added to my port.

ETA. Just as I was writing that, the same thing happened again. My latest submitted image got approved, while the other much older 4 are still sitting there.

That means also some images cannot be found using key words, and thats exactly whats happening to our photos.

Thus its a potential loss of sales, since buyers dont search for IDs.

Its killing the momentum of a newby and costing money for the pros

Mine are only searchable by keyword under the 'relevant' search, and I notice that others are also reporting this.

Perhaps, if the problem is very widespread, you could switch the default search to 'relevant' until the issue is resolved? At least that way, our work wouldn't be totally in vain.

Anthony, thanks for your input but could you also confirm whether the images not porting to Bigstock problem is related? I uploaded time-sensitive images here of the Titanic Memorial, and they are 'missing the boat' at Bigstock, because the Centenary will have come and gone before they are even available.

Dear Contributors:

ruxpriencdiam: The idea behind noting that images are searchable by image ID# is to let you know that you may still promote the image via your Social Media channels, at your discretion. Example: if you know your image ID#, all you need to do is add it to the end of the following URL:
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=99307073

gertan: Review is not affected. Your recently uploaded editorial batches were all reviewed recently. I see that some were uploaded as recently as yesterday so, if there are any other outstanding images delayed with review, let me know (acorreia@shutterstock.com).

rixie: The Bigstock porting scenario you described is a different issue and not related.

All: Issues occur. My original message to everyone was to simply:
1) acknowledge the current issues exist and
2) advise that we are working diligently to resolve the issues

Sincerely,

Thank you Anthony for taking time to let us know this issue is being worked on and will be resolved.

My latest approved images that have also disappeared from my gallery are being sold daily and I keep seeing them pop up on the Latest Downloads world map thingy. So it's true, what we don't see in our ports is still visible to customers. Which is good enough for me, since I can admire my own work on my computer :)

Thank you Anthony for coming back on this. My images have appeared today and you are obviously aware of the Bigstock problem.

Hopefully, all will be fully resolved soon.
