I see in the keyword finder the word background and backdrop often comes up – I know this is a silly question but what does it mean? I assume it means “this image can be used as a backdrop” – but isn’t that true of most images? Do you use it as a keyword?

You are pretty much in the ballpark with what you believe a background image is. Basically it is an image that another image or text can be placed over. These background shots usually cover the entire background with the subject matter such as a fence, brick wall, a pattern, some foods, landscapes etc.

Thank you. I really enjoy baking and decorating cup cakes. Every now and then I come up with another type I want to try and I start baking. Very relaxing for me :)

How do I fix my keywords on some of my old images? Do I have to delete them and resubmit? I want to clean a few of my backgrounds too. On some of my images I got lucky to have had them approved in the first place – I might not be so lucky if I removed them and tried to resubmit them again. Is there any other way of editing the images currently in my port?

Go to the Stats link and then click on Status of Approved Photos. From there you can put in the image ID # of the one you wish to edit or go to the approved tab and find the batch it is in. Add your new keywords and click on save.

Just goes to show you that keywords should not be looked at as an afterthought. If the buyer can't find your shot then it won't sell. Good keywords are just one part of the puzzle.

If you have keywords as phrases make sure you put them in quotes again, because when editing your key words, all phrases become separtate keywords.

For exmple keyword "blue dress" will show as blue and dress. If you dont put it back in quotes, "blue dress" is gone.

Thats my experience.
