"Editorial Use Only. Use of this image in advertising or for promotional purposes is prohibited."

Please, tell me why? As the author of this image, I absolutely agree with using this image in advertising. Will i need to check some option for this image?

I really do not know what is going on with this image. If you did not send it in as an editorial image and the reviewer thinks it should have been it would have been rejected for incorrect titling.

It seems as if you are saying that the reviewer accepted it and added the editorial license agreement onto it.

I would write to them and ask what is going on.

Yes, this image is approved as you see. And i'm sure, i don't check anything before sending for review, just fill name, keywords and categories.

I watch now for a 10 vectors of bulb lamp on site, they all don't have this limitation.

About mailing to reviewers - I have anther one question abut other image, and sent e-mail about month ago, but i still waiting for answer.

Then I don't understand what happened. I have not seen a reviewer approve a non editorial submitted image and change it to an editorial one. They will rejected it if they feel it is editorial and have you fill in the proper editorial description.

What address did you write to? Write them at submit@shutterstock.com

The following 3 images in your port are also editorial use only with the mention

They're all new images. Maybe you checked a wrong box when you submitted them.

Could be but that does not answer why the reviewer accepted them as editorial without the proper editorial caption and newsworthiness. That is something they have been very picky about.

You're right Dave (as usual). Very bizarre. Maybe it's the reviewer who checked the wrong box?

Write them again. If they haven't answered yet then your email probably got sidetracked or buried somewhere. Make sure you write to submit@shutterstock.com

I have found Shutterstock is very bad dealing with editorial images. They are expecting hard news editorial that would be appropriate for a wire service - but they are not a wire service! Editorial does NOT need to be about a newsworthy event - editorial is not just about news - it can be about education or information. Its a pity. I won't waste any more time submitting here.

There is the general definition of editorial as far as newsworthiness goes and then there is the one that Shutterstock uses in their policies and guidelines. They do not have to follow the general definition of it. If they want newsworthiness as part of the definition for the images they sell then that is that.

Yep "that is that" and it is a shame. I've been having pretty good sales with my "less than current Newsworthy" images.

Just resubmit them again as illustrations and see if they get accepted. If they do delete the editorial ones. My guess is you accidentally ticked the editorial box.
