Hello,

I'm trying to choose the correct settings for a mov file to upload. My clip is only 45 seconds and I'm using Sony Vegas Pro. There isn't a standard HD render template to choose so you have to use a custom one. I set the frame size to 1920/1080, frame rate 29.97, video format to photo jpeg. Once rendered it comes to 700MB. I then lowered the quality to 95% and knocked 40MB off. Can anyone tell me how to lower the file size more without losing too much detail?

Thanks

75% quality reduces file size drastically without a noticable quality drop from 95%.

Ok That's down to 417MB, looks like it will take an hour at 108 kb/s. Is that a usual upload speed that people have here?

Question...Why submit a 45 sec clip?? most clips used are 5/8 seconds by a buyer.The longest one I have is 21 seconds.Most are 12/15.

Well I'm new to this, no luck uploading a clip yet, and I'm covering an area of countryside that doesn't have much exposure on here. Its an old steam train pulling in to a station. Maybe it could get used on a news piece or something. Its the longest clip I have as yet.

A 45 second clip can easily be 700 mb. In fact a 20 second clip will easily exceed 500 mb. When saving in MJPG or PJPG don't save at quality above 95%. I normally use 90-92%. Footage is a big change from fast uploading photos. Get a fast internet or sit back and wait a long time ;)
