Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has noticed the difference in popularity between the different frames rates. Assuming that the largest buyers are in the US my guess would be 30p / 60i, perhaps followed by 24p and then 25p / 50i.
Hmm... and what about the more technically accurate 29.97 and 23.976?
Any thoughts? |

I make everything 29.97 and forget about it. |

I wish we could see view stats!
Oh well, just have to "forget about it" as you say. Nice port by the way, love your work! |

Frame rate is an issue. Mostly an aesthetic one. There is also a technical problem: converting 30p to 24p is mathematically impossible. Those software converters are just expensive toys with poor results. I know, some of you will jump to my neck, but let's face it!
For the sake of art, shoot 24p. But, if you think you might need to trim or play with speed, shoot 30p. |

Is this the same as trying to convert PAL dvds into NTSC and it's jumpy and terrible?
There's always something about converting frame rates and speed timing formats in almost everything, that doesn't seem to work well. LOL
With that I just shoot the local standard and don't worry about pleasing the world. |
