I am trying to do a silhouette of the trees and benches in the front. Should I darken them all out or leave some of the light. I know in vectors/illustrations, all is darkened. Is it the same with photos? or do you lighten them but not blacken them?

It is OOF so it doesn't matter on this shot.
Need to reshoot.

Also, to photograph a silhouette you have to have the subject in front of the light source, in this case the sun, what is not the case, so even if you darken them it´s not believable.
A part from being out of focus it is just horrible underexposed, if the sun would have been in the right place the trees would have been all black...
But the benches you were talking about would get lost in such situation against the trees in the back.
Last but not least, the whole scene is somehow LCV and as you were talking about the benches, I see that in your idea these had some significance which is not archived in that photo.

I see what you are saying and thanks for the tips. I thought I might get away with underexposure making the trees and benches darker. I'll take your tips and try a reshoot (in focus). ;)

Well, I would not, at least not before you rethink and recompose this scene dramatically. But that should not stop you by no means from coming up with other silhouette shots. good luck
