Hello everybody!

I have a big problem when I submit my vectors.
My vectors are rejected with reason:

No Bitmaps--Bitmap images are not permitted--please see Shutterbuzz for more info

I read the article and I created rasterizations for all vectors who have effects in Illustrator
(the path: Opject > Rasterize)

But my vectors are rejected again :(
Please someone can show me solution and some experiences for that!

Thanks a lot in advance!

rasters ARE bitmaps. Don't rasterize.

You need to expand, flatten or convert to curves. Don't use textures, or emboss.

Thanks darla!

Can I expand for the effects like: Transparency, Opacity, Gradient, Drop Shadow ?

How Can I flatten or convert to curves? Please show me!

Many thanks!

Yolande, do not expand gradients and blends; transparency/opacity cannot be expanded anyway, and you shouldn't use a drop shadow effect either, since it creates bitmaps in the EPS file. Use blends instead.

Expand paths, patterns, brushed objects and fonts - that's what 'converting to curves' refers to. It is done by selecting an object and going to Object > Expand. When it comes to gradient-filled objects and blends, uncheck the "fill" part in the Expand dialogue window, and choose to expand only path ('stroke') and object (for fonts, for example), if needed.

Your EPS files should be 100% vectors, with no rasterized areas (bitmaps) whatsoever.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot lana505!

I'll try make my vectors following your instructions.

I hope my vectors won't be rejected again :(

Many thanks!

If in doubt, and to save yourself some time, check your AI files for rasterized areas before uploading them to SS.

With your file opened in Illustrator, go to Window > Flattener Preview. When the Flattener Preview window opens click on 'Refresh' if needed (to see your entire image in the window) and open a 'Highlight' drop-down menu on the right. If there are any bitmaps, "Rasterized Complex Regions" will be highlighted. Flattener Preview catches all bitmaps except for those created by the drop shadow effect.

I'm sure you'll do well. The images you've uploaded so far are perfectly suited for vector files :)

I think a solution could be if only those new contributors whose ID was already approved were allowed to post in forums. I dont think spammers would go through so much trouble as sending their scanned ID. But that would be probably too harsh for real newbies who need to ask questions :(

I do not believe SS could have any damage, so they do not worry too much. Those who open these links need to be worried.
