I cannot get photos accepted any more here on SS. Is it me or my camera-equipment (Canon 50D with EFS 17-85)? Is that good enough for stock?

But it might be a little more difficult to get over the bar with that set-up than it is with a 5D Mk2 or Mk3 and L glass. So maybe it is a bit of both.

What type of rejections did you get?

I shoot with a 450D and a kit lens, some rejections on composition, or uneven lighting, but not for focus or noise. All rejections are me not the 450D so I guess your equipment should be fine.

Paul, are you secretly wanting a "reason" to buy upgraded equipment??? New toys? ;-)

If so, I give you permission.......so go spend the money and enjoy. We only live once.

And then if you get rejections, you'll know it's you. But you'll be so enthralled with your new equipment, the rejections won't matter so much.

I've already got a 5D MkI and a 5D MkII along with the 24-70 f2.8L, the 70-200 f2.8L, the 17-40 f4L and the 1-5x 65MP-E, so I think I am probably OK for the moment, thanks.

Being a Nikon gal and reading your post too quickly, my brain whipped right past the quality you already have for digital and assumed it was an old camera you truly were really thinking was becoming outdated for SS. I get your post now. I really shouldn't try taking pics and reading the forum at the same time---obviously doesn't work well for me---LOL.

And cheer up, rejections aren't a death sentence, not quite ;-)

I think you might be confusing me with Ole999, who was the one who started the thread. I was merely trying to point out that while it is easy enough for us to say that the 50D and what I presume is the kit lens is good enough for stock, those of us who are geared up with full frame 20+ MP cameras might be having a slightly easier life than those who don't have them.

Yes, I did post today about a rejection in the appropriate forum, because I wanted some advice, but that's nothing to do with this thread and I've still got a high acceptance rate.

Yep, you're exactly right, Paul! I think I'll quit the forums for today and go eat some protein. Maybe that'll improve my reading skills for today! I hope my photo session here with tulips proves better than my reading comprehension. LOL. Sorry about the mixup!

I believed the acceptance ratio is quite equal but those taken with FF cameras will find buyers more frequently

My first 700 images or so were taken with a Canon Rebel XS and a 18-55mm EF-S or a 50mm EF 1.8 both kit lenses. That was less than a year ago. People get photos accepted that are taken on iPhones.

After all the hard work you've put into your beautiful port, I say go out and buy all the lighting equipment your heart desires! It'll be good for you and the economy ;-) !!
