Here is what I did today: For one of my Management class group assignments I made a candy bar wrapper, point of sale display and a buy 1 get 1 free coupon. Our project is to start a company so we're starting a candy bar that tastes good but won't make you fat. I'm doing all the graphics and the others in the group are doing the business parts. I bought the red & yellow vortex from ss. It will be a while before I can work on the star trails or process the 4x5 film.

Marlene, Love the slot shot and the stars. Very good work. heres our waitress again.

So lets see if I get this right. You walk into a hotel with a bunch of photographers. You find a lady at the reception and you ask her: "would you mind posing for me and my class to do some portrait shots?" Lady says:"well yes of course I will do that for you, no worries". Laurin:" Good sport, I will email you some of the results in return". Lady" Ow wow, great, thanks so much"

You do the shoot, you process the photos, mail them to the reception lady. She thinks, wow amazing photos. She googles your name, and then realizes she now actually has orignal portrait photos of the great Laurin Rinder for free. LOL, thats awesome, I would have loved to see the look on her face when she found out who you were.

First and third are NICE! Really like the first.

Wish I could have joined the crowd. Mule Canyon; that's where Mike took me on our first date:)

We do this quite often. When we were in Hawaii for one of our workshops the model we had contracted for never showed up. We were eating in a restaurant with Katrina and a couple of others from the workshop and we saw the waitress. After a few minutes she agreed to model and in the end we also found a bus boy who modeled and brought his entire family with and they modeled.

For the lady at Monument Valley she was pouring some water into our glasses and Laurin started his talk with her. I handed her our card so she didn't think Laurin was a dirty old man and shortly after that we had a model.

Glad you got them accepted quickly Susan. Excellent work!

For those of you who may be wondering the sun up shot was done the first day. We got into the park and set up while still dark then waited for the light. Often that is what landscape photography is all about, being there when others are sleeping and waiting for just the right moment.

Here are a few more of Isabelle, Marlene and some of us at the Forest Gump area outside MV. We have to be very careful at the Forest Gunp site because the cars and trucks are coming down the road at about 70 MPH. We always have two spotters watching for cars and the shooters are told to move when we say move.

Didn't you say "our" card? so, why just Laurin?

Glad to read btw that you all had a great time with great shots as the result.

Well Laurin was doing most of the talking.

It was a great workshop. Great attendees who really had wonderful questions and put in the work. A very talented bunch.
