If you mean how long a stock clip can be, it is usually up to 1 minute at Shutterstock as far as I can remember (others can correct me if I am wrong). However, having said that, most clips are up to at the most 30 seconds.

Also, other stock footage sites may have restrictions on how long the clip can be - I know sites that do not accept clips above 25 seconds.

Hope this answers your query.

Have a look at the footage section and you will see that the clips are very short between 5 and 20 seconds for most of them

If you're in an area where you can get Cox Internet, and you can afford to upgrade to their high speed (53.00/mo in Arkansas) I recommend it. Their commercial says it's blazing fast and I'm here to attest that it is, indeed, pretty fast. 30 sec. clips that were taking me a couple hours to upload now take about 15 minutes. It's crazy fast! I was paying 33.00 for DSL through ATT, so an extra 20.00 wasn't that much more for the faster speed.

The high speed sure is great for streaming movies and videos to the computer too!

I guess Cox ought to hire me...

When I think of clip length, I think of a shot I saw on TV in a movie recently. It was thundering and lightning outside and the scene was one of suspense. To help build the idea of something sinister out there in the dark stormy night, they cut to clip of a hissing cat with his back arched. It was very effective, and, thanks to the wonders of DVR, I was able to play it back and time the clip... 6 seconds.

If I only had a cat....
