If so, did you see that their most recent contest has a prize of a nationwide TV commercial? That's pretty cool, if you ask me. The good thing is, it's a juried contest. I like that, because I HATE having to solicit votes. The bad thing is, you have to get 250 votes to advance to the juried part. I understand that, because there's a lot of photos that get submitted there which... let's be nice... should not waste the jurors' time. But so that brings me full circle to, you'd pretty much have to solicit votes to get to the juried part. So that's why I'm here.

I'm only directing this at FAA members because voting is trivially easy if you're already an FAA member. If not, you can 'vote via facebook', but that involves adding an ap, which is just annoying. That's also why I don't want to solicit my friends and family, because I don't want to force them to have to start adding stuff on facebook, etc. That's just annoying. So I came here. If you could vote for mine, I'd surely appreciate it. Only do so if you like the images, though! And of course, if anyone else here wants help to get to the next round, I'd be MORE than willing to reciprocate.

Anyways here are the links.

Ugh sorry about this. I hope you're all not annoyed. I hate soliciting. This is just one of only groups I know likely to have FAA members :(

Thanks Laurin!

We won't negate each other at all, though. This doesn't decide the winner. You just need a certain amount to get to the juried phase of the contest.

Gotta use what you got...I got an image into the NWF people's choice using FB. Only about 5 images currently in the running are worthwhile, and I will probably request support here from SS when the final voting comes because I don't want to see some backyard image with no talent or knowledge required to get the popular vote....If I can't get published on merit, at least I can make sure that the winning image has some photography skills applied....You taught me that Laurin :D

I voted for your photos. I think they are great shots with every chance of winning. I love the light in your photos. Its my favourite light of all, when parts of the landscape are lit and the rest is covered in shadow.

I havent submitted photos to the contest yet, because I only joined FAA today and uploaded 25 photos. But the URL of my profile and artist website have my real name instead of my artist name. I want to have this fixed first, before continuing with uploading and submitting to the contest.

I have a few pics in the same contest - however, I haven't announced it anywhere as I have much more fun seeing how many people find my pics accidentally and vote for them spontaneously - only because they liked them!

For sure, I'm not going to get to the 2nd round going against all the people asking for votes on all venues, but hey - I like to walk my own paths ;) It won't hurt my feelings a bit! :D

...and that's why I have a real job to pay the bills...LOL

Good for you, it always seems a bit demeaning to me that people are expected to beg for votes, how many facebook "friends" you have is nothing to do with how good your photos are.

I hardly ever enter these contests but I did get a few hundred votes in one, purely because of people stealing my photos off the Net and submitting them as their own.

It might have been funny if the "contest" hadn't been one of those where entering automatically gives the company running it (Qatar Airways) an eternal royalty-free license to use the picture in any way they like. They did delete at least two of the three I reported but the site (run by a professional photo-contest-grab-free-licences-organising company) made it incredibly hard and time-consuming to check for stolen works. By accident? Maybe.....

I am sorry for asking to vote. I did mention in another post only to vote if you liked the photos.

I sure wont post again.

It wasn't aimed at you - or anybody in particular. Nobody has to vote if they don't want to. Its just the whole process seems to me A) pointless and B) demeaning to the person asking. Sorry if I upset you.
