Anyway back to the tips :-)
How about puppet Warp, Anyone used it?

Let's start with an image that we can warp, so this is something simple to do, lets use one of my turkeys

Next we add control points

So the first thing I want to do is to make his beard long

Next add some more control point elongate the legs, pull the head more erect, enlarge the fan of the tail feathers

OK this is not tremendously exciting, but I am sure that you can find some way to use it to your advantage

Ok, question on how best to do this. I am sure it possible, but I am not a photoshop Guru to figure this out on my own.

How do I reflect the clouds into the water?

The first shot is the original, and the second has the clouds added.

I tried to get the clouds reflected in the water with the photo duplicated in a layer and then flipped. Then applied a 13% opacity brush only to get the clouds in. That worked but as you can see the water has small waves, and my result of the cloud reflection hadnt. It didnt look consistant with the reflection of the building which clearly shows the wavey water.

Any ideas or is this advanced photoshopping? I am more than happy to drop the idea and move on ;-)

Or I am I completely wrong in thinking the clouds need to be reflected in the photo to make it look natural? LOL

Hi Semmick, apologies for taking time to respond, I was in New Zealand and infrequently on the forum.

Anyway, if you wanted to do the reflection of the clouds, you were precisely on the right track, however as you correctly deduced you need a further step to make it more realistic.

That step would be the use of Filter> Liquify> select a small brush and paint in the rippling effect

This would take some time so it would be only worth the time if you really thought that you were going to make a lot of money off of the image, or if you wanted to hang it on your wall, for 38c I am not sure I would bother.

Hey Jeff, no worries, I knew you were out of town. Thanks anyway for even getting back at me. Much appreciated.

Its more of a learning experience than to make money out of it. The photo is accepted on a few sites without the clouds, but for SS I wanted to add the clouds. And then I realised the clouds didnt reflect, of course.

Either way, I want to learn more tricks in CS5 as well.

I will get back to the drawing board and see what I can come up with.

I am also thinking now that an overlay filter might help me as well, in combination with liquefy.

Thanks, I will post the result once I have it.

Thought I would bump this thread since I have started a few other PS threads since and this one has a ton of tricks in it, although I should have put it in the Tricks and tips forum, wish SS could move it over there for me, but Alas!
