Joining the crowd, I'm looking forward to seeing if I can do well here. I got 37 out of 48 accepted today - I don't know if that's good or bad, but I guess time will teach me the ropes.

Welcome aboard, I think we all get rejections. And just when you think you have things down and start to get most of your images accepted you will get a reviewer like my last one. I had over half of my images rejected from the last batch. Most of the time I make minor adjustments and then send them through again 9 out of 10 times they get accepted on the second round.

Congratulations Jen, I think it is safe to say you are no longer a n00b.

But speaking for myself you are more than welcome to continue posting on this thread ... for now :)

Well it seems I'm really part of the crowd and get to share the bugs too, my portfolio is back down to 7 images, the second batch approved (37) have disappeared. Will they come back on their own?

Ooooops...
I was trying to get them in the catalog manager and they weren't showing up so I went to my portfolio, I should have thought about that.

Hi, everybody! Although I'm new to Shutterstock I'm not new to microstock. I recently submitted my initial 10 images here and am happy to say that they were approved over the weekend. However, I'm having a little difficulty understanding the process/site.

Actually, I feel a little silly asking this, but I can't find the answer anywhere in the FAQs or forum. When I look at my "Status of Submitted Photos," the ten approved images are there under the "approved photos" tab, but I can't seem to find them anywhere else. When I look in my Image Gallery, it's empty, as is my Catalog Manager. Is there something else I need to do to get them into my portfolio or am I just being impatient and they'll eventually make it there on their own? Do I need to resubmit them?

Thanks!

It can take up a few good hours before you will see them in your portfolio. If you click on the photo number in the approved section of your account you will find the photo online.

Thanks, semmickphoto, but it's actually been a few days since they were approved, not just a few hours. I received the approval notification on 4/28, so today makes three days. How long should I wait before deciding that something is really wrong?

Are they online? Can you find them with the keywords? If you click in the approved tab on the photo, does it take you to the photo online?

http://submit.shutterstock.com/review_batch.mhtml?approved=1&type=photos

Click on the link and then you see the photos. Click on the number and then it will take you to the photo online.

If thats the case they should show in your port at some point. Otherwise you can post it in the bugs forum and/or send an email to support.

You probably have the default search set to "popular" -- and the only way to change it to "new" (your images don't get indexed to most popular right away, but they can be found under "new") is to

1) Go to someone else's port
(click on the camera icon in my post on in someone else's post - NOT your own)

2) When it opens the gallery, click on the NEW tab.

3) Wait till it sorts the pics in the newest first order.

4) After that, click on your own camera icon in the post
and it will show YOUR port with newest first as default.

Well, fiddlesticks -- this usually works but for some reason your port doesn't work even with the correct default for newest first.
If they've been approved for more than three days I'd email support about it.
