So, I've done as much reading as I can, as far as what's expected of the contributors here at Shutterstock...And I must say, I'm rather daunted by the requirements, as I've none of the technical equipment that so many of you seem to use to crank out such quality stock art. Just a traveler with Photoscape and a Rebel XTI, lol.

But I'm hoping to turn my hobby into art, so I'm here to hopefully see if it's worth sending the following photos in as my first 10 submission. Please advise and help me get this right off the bat! :c)

The peppers have poor composition and are copyrighted because of the writing and have uneven lighting.

The tea house forget B&W and lighting.

I would care to guess also that all of these are OOF as well.

100% crops needed.

Crops here. The banner is actually not a "for sale sign," though I can't vouch for the one visible character in full. I can get a translation though, if necessary, to submit to Shutterstock?

Okay ~ ditching B&W, thanks for your advice on my threads. Here's one of Guan-Yin, to replace the tea house.

The crop on the peppers is out of focus. Needs to be much sharper.

Think composition when taking your shots. The pepper shot would have been better with a vertical composition or you would have to pull back to get the whole thing as well as the flags or banners.

Composition is your way of telling the viewer what they want to see and how to see it. If you cut things off at an improper place the eye gets confused as to what you are actually supposed to be looking at.

For example the statue. It is cropped at a strange place (just before the bottom). This is an abrupt and unusual place to cut it off. Look at the whole frame before taking the shot. Make sure everything is where it should be to make for a pleasing composition.

Since I can't find EXIF data on the peppers shot, I will assume this was handheld and probably not at ISO 100. The is why it is OOF and noisy.
